Junior’s Cheesecake & Desserts Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (M18011)

Junior’s Cheesecake & Desserts of Brooklyn, New York is recalling the 8” Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cheesecake sold exclusively through QVC, as a precautionary measure because the products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. This action is a result of the PCA expanded recall of January 28, 2009 for all products manufactured in their Blakely, Georgia facility since January 1, 2007.
The recalled cheesecakes contain Peanut Butter supplied by the Peanut Corporation of America. There are no reported illnesses associated with this 8” Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecakes, which were sold through QVC.
Salmonella is an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. Other lots are not involved.
Consumers who have purchased any of the affected 8” Peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake are advised not to consume these items and have already been notified by QVC and have received a full refund. If QVC customers have any questions about their refund they may contact QVC Customer Service at 1-800-367-9444, between the hours of 7a.m. and 1 a.m. ET, seven days a week.
