Judith Ripka Sterling Silver 2.30 cttw Rhodolite Ring is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Nice Slice of Raspberry Garnets! I adore Rhodolites and don’t always keep those rings I try because the stones aren’t quite up to the true hue standard, but in person, the stones in this ring look close enough to top Rhodolites I’ve seen over the decades. Also, the color is not too light, nor dark, but just right. Quite lovely. Exactly what I was waiting and hoping for. I thought this ring was very well priced for what you are getting, and the setting is what I’ve come to expect from Judith Ripka in the twenty years I’ve been collecting jewels from THE BEST NYC designer. I’ll wear this on its own and I hope to stack it with other similar rings too. This same ring in another coordinating color (like pink or purple, maybe) would be awesome. I’ll be on the lookout for that. Thanks for this and all my many JRipka rings, Judith!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing The color of the stones look nothing like the picture. They look like generic, medium pinkish Rhodolite Garnets. Definitely not purple. The stones are small which wouldn’t be a problem if they were mounted flush against each other. Unfortunately, they’re not. Because of this, too much silver shows between each stone and overwhelms the overall effect of the stones. The stones are just too small for the setting. If you want an idea of what the setting and overall look of the ring is like, here are presentations of it set with DMQ, from Feb. 2014: J288482, and this one with Pink Tourmaline from Oct. 2013: J287871 As usual, the stones go too far down each side making the ring very uncomfortable. Does ANYONE at JR actually try on these rings before sending them for final production?? Are they just randomly ordered from a jewelry manufacturer’s catalog? It would appear so considering a ring mount from 4+ years ago was used for this piece along with the other 2 noted above. And certainly explains why a basic design flaw of the stones going too far down the sides hasn’t been fixed–JR is just using old castings instead of creating a newer, viable one that fixes the problem. I wish I had noticed this before purchasing. As with most of my Ripka purchases in the last few years, this too is being returned. No quality control, generic re-hashed designs, etc. I’m done with this line.
