I had such a wonderful time with David Venable on his show In the Kitchen with David®! I hope you love my new cookbook and that it helps make your holiday cooking so much less stressful this year. I’m making the Make-Ahead Roast Turkey with Make-Ahead Turkey Gravy with Onions and Sage, plus Leek and Artichoke Bread Pudding and Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes because I can assemble each of these recipes ahead of time and simply throw them into the oven before dinner. And, for dessert, I'm making an updated classic—Lemon Ginger Molasses Cake—with make-ahead whipped cream!
When people come to my house, they’re surprised to find that I’ve written down a detailed "game plan" for dinner. I literally start with "4pm: turn on the oven to 350 degrees" and proceed to "4:30pm: put the sweet potatoes into the oven." It takes a little time to prepare but when I’m in a panic thinking that I’ll never get everything hot to the table at the same time, I look at my game plan and realize I have it totally covered!
