Honora Sterling Silver Metallic Ming Pearl 18" Necklace is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Necklace - Compare Your Choices I own a LOT of Honora's Ming pearl strand necklaces, almost every one that has been offered in the last several years. So I'm always on the lookout for something unique and different. I remember watching the original airing of the Ming metallic necklace and wasn't sure if it was a repeat of the others I own or if it was something truly special. After nearly a year of contemplating the purchase I decided to see if was worth my while during the last Gem Day sale. This necklace (Ming metallic) is very similar to J362416, so if you're trying to decide between the two here's my comparison. Ming Metallic - All pearls on this necklace were beautiful with deep luster, only one or two were what I consider metallic. I'm comparing the metallic finish of the Honora pearls to a few Ming fireball strands that I own from a different vendor. The fireballs are truly reflective, the Honora pearls are similar to other Honora Mings that I own. The pearl size was a bit smaller than other necklaces with more small ones overall and fewer larger ones up front. The size graduation is still well done. The clasp is 14k clad, so it gives the look of gold but at the price for silver. The locking mechanism is the same between the two necklaces. J362416 - All pearls on this necklace are beautiful with deep luster, a few have a metallic finish as well. The pearls are slightly larger than the Metallic Ming and the clasp is 14k satin finished gold. Another well executed necklace from Honora and very worthy of owning. Conclusion: If I didn't already own J362416, then I would consider the Metallic Ming due to the value. If owning a 14k gold clasp is important, then go for the higher price tag and buy J362416 instead. Both necklaces look the same, especially to the casual observer. Nobody will say "oh you're wearing the metallic pearls today". See the photo below for comparison. The Metallic Ming is on the left, J362416 on the right.
