HP 15.6" OMEN Laptop - i5, 12GB, 1TB HDD, 128GBSSD & Software is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Starter Gaming laptop Pros Lightweight Backlit Keys Stylish Handled most games (overwatch/fortnite @ 60 fps. Cons Thermals are poor (if that matters to you) 1050ti bottlenecks due to poor thermal management CPU bottlenecks due to poor thermal management Keyboard tray temps reach unbearable heat Noise at max load is unbearable. I purchased a laptop from QVC previous to this one, it was a ACER v17 Nitro, I was completely pleased with that laptop for the price and specifications it offered. I gave this one a try that had nearly double the speed and vram. Sadly the older Acer handles noise and thermal management better. HP really needs to work on their firmware for thermal management. This laptop is starving for air and the fans inside are far from quiet, the whole laptop vibrates under load. All this being said, yes I would still recommend this laptop to someone who is just starting out but not at this price point. For a Omen series machine it felt like a lot of corners were cut and I received a branded student laptop with no real value to the price point.
