George Simonton A-Line J Pocket Jacket is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Jacket This jacket fits me really well. I am 5'3" and weigh around 150 lbs. I ordered a medium and it is perfect. The reason this works so well for me is that I have a smaller frame, but carry my weight in my tummy area. The jacket is A- Line and flares out a little more in the biggest part of my body. I hope this helps to describe it. I always hate to buy and returrn. It gets really costly to send things back. The quality is outstanding and I really believe that George knows how to make clothing fit for the typical woman.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FABULOUS JACKET! I am new to the George simonton line; thus, I did not know what to expect--especially with the mixed reviews. But, I am so glad I took a leap of faith and purchased the jacket in black, XS. It fits me very well. and, it s quite flattering! I did not find the J pockets to be bulky. As a matter of fact, they are flat against the main body, and gives the jacket a true designer touch. I do agree with the reviewers who stated that it is a bit narrow on the shoulders. The jacket could have used and inch or so around the shoulders and back for added comfort. It is a light medium weight jacket--perfect for any ocassion. More, it is feminine, elegant, and unique! With that said, I love my jacket! I love the design of the fabric, the banana seam to keep the collar up is genius, and the silver accent around the black buttons just closed the deal for me (I am a silver girl)! I found it very flattering on me--slimming even--and I am going to play with it a lot to get different looks! Thank you George for a delightful update on a 1940's-1950's jacket! My favorite era for fashion.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed! Nicely made jacket, but the fit must be patterned for the very slender model types. As a curvy figure it just didn't fit...shoulders were very narrow and the bottom sweep was not as generous as stated in the measurements. I also think the button detail on the pockets just added bulk and calls attention to your waistline & hips. This was my first order from G.S...quality was definitely there, but not fitting for me...oh well, live & learn.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad Ivory I REALLY like this jacket. It's a very nice cut and style and fits well. The color is off. The ivory has a green tint to it. I took it out of the package and immediately saw the green hue in the fabric. I showed it to my husband, saying "I bought this ivory jacket to wear on the boat," and he said, "that's not ivory, it's green. I'm sending it back. I don't think I should have to pay for the return shipping, because the fabric is not as represented. Please come back with the jacket as a true ivory or even a white so I can reorder it. Thank you very much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant, rich fabric and style This is a lovely jacket. While I would normally take a large, I sent it back and got the medium, which is perfect. I love that George doesn't expand the shoulder with larger sizes. I'm 5'3", 180 lbs, and an apple shape who needs tops to be small enough in the shoulder but large enough to (almost) go around my waist. This jacket is perfect for me, though I wouldn't button it. I don't like to wear jackets closed anyway, so that's fine for me. Aside from loving the fit, the fabric is so rich looking, along with the lining. The style is rich as well, and oh so slimming. I just love you George -- thank you. How about making some of your tops short enough for us shorter clients? (I consider you my personal designer.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Construction is Off I first ordered this jacket in ivory L. Loved the yellowish-ivory color and the shoulders fit great. But from the bust down there was way too much fabric that fanned out. So I ordered a medium. This time the shoulders were way too tight. This jacket did not look funny on the models on air, so I am very disappointed, as I have searched everywhere for this ivory color in a decent jacket.
