No sleep monitoring
Garmin replaced my original Instinct watch, which failed 11 months after purchase. It was replaced with a refurbished model. For reasons I don’t understand this model does not feature sleep monitoring. My original Instinct had that feature and it worked well. I’m extremely disappointed that I am unable to configure the the sleep feature. The controls that relate to that feature; battery saver and the sleep widget are not listed on this watch’s menu. All in all extremely unhappy that my watch was warranted with one with less options.

Very disappointed
I bought the Instinct thinking that Garmin would be the top of the line for HR tracking watches. I had a Samsung galaxy before this one and the HR tracker was very accurate at all times but had a few other issues so after being recommended a Garmin and being told how reliable they are I bought my Instinct. The HR tracking is terrible! I can be sitting down not moving and then do a full high intensity training session and my HR will change a maximum of 20 bpm. I will finish a training session, be lying on the floor dying and my HR will read 77 bpm, I am relatively fit, but that number is absurdly low. Then because the HR doesnt track accurately, my calories burnt for the session is very low too.
This is the first time I have ever written a review about anything I have bought and it is only because I am disappointed that I have wasted my money on a watch that doesnt work.

Super nice
Got the instinct tactical a few days ago. Great watch but the calorie count is way off. It shows me having 700 burnt calorie every morning. Crazy thing is I take it off every night.

Best adventure watch ever!!
I bought this watch to use for tracking my activities ie running, cycling, weights. But I also wanted something I could use in the backcounty for hunting, hiking, and back packing. I have fallen in love with the watch almost immediately and wish I would have bought it sooner. One feature that most people don't talk about that I have found useful is the find my iPhone feature which works great when I am in a rush and need to locate my phone quickly.
