Ellis Island Collection of Porcelain Dolls - Sadie
product thumbnail

Steeled with memories of her home and holding onto her rag doll, Sadie looks out in wonder as she faces the unknown in a new land. Inspired by the collected memories of Eastern European Jewish immigrants from the late 1800s, this doll reminds us of their troubles and triumphs in building new lives for themselves in America. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting Sadie is much more than I expected. I have never seen this line before but was intrigued with the idea. I ordered Sadie because she was on ez pay and I am glad I did. She is unique and interesting. I will be ordering Joseph soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Touching I was astounded at the quality of the dolls. I purchased this doll and another from the Ellis Island Collection and it is so touching and beautiful and the attention to detail was wonderful. This doll is for people who cherish the beautiful culture, trials and tributlations of the Jewish emmigrants as they arrived at Ellis Island. My friend was so touched because her grandmother came from Russia as a Jewish emmigrant that she has created a special place in her home for the dolls. I am not Jewish and found the dolls and what they represent so compelling I want to start my own collection after I finish the one for my friend. Shalom

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Face is the nicest part of doll Sadie has a very pretty face but for me that is where it ends. It's not the quality of some of the dolls that QVC carries. I was very disappointed when I opened it up. The doll reminds me of something you could get a truck stop. Not that those are not sometimes pretty but just not good quality if you are a collector of dolls.
