Elite Platinum 8.5-qt Stainless Steel Slow Cooker is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not my best purchase I am not happy with this crockpot. I would Never use it while I am not in the house & I would certainly Never recommend it's purchase to anyone. Since the very first time I used this cooker, the lid rattles & shakes, liquid sputters & 'boils' over the lid edges, even though I have Only used it on the Low setting, and liquid spills all over my counter, no matter what level I fill it to. Today, I put a pork roast in, with a can of crushed pineapple & a jar of sauce. Came home 9 hours later to a dinner that was burnt into the pot...and a Huge mess on my counter. The food I added to the pot only came about 5 inches up in depth,so I certainly did not over fill it. I purchased this particular crockpot because I was attracted to the volume that it could hold. Needless to say, I will be purchasing a new crockpot somewhere else this weekend! And the kicker...I still have 1 payment to go (tomorrow) on! :(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Purchased for size and love it! I have a 6-qt cooker but needed something larger and this fit the bill. It will hold a 6-7 lbs roast w/vegetables easily. I agree that the exterior does get hot (hence the 4 instead of 5 rating) but I put mine on the stove so everyone walking thru knows not to touch it. The first time I used it, I cooked my pork roast on low for 6 hrs and it was very tender. The second time I used it I was in a hurry and set it on warm instead of low. When I came home 3 hours later, I was in a panic as I had company coming at 5. So I set it on high and cooked it for 5 hours. Yes it was boiling but I was pleasantly surprised when my eye roast was cooked perfectly, tender, and everyone loved it. I will continue to use this cooker but be cautious of the exterior heat on the unit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Caution, gets extremely hot on exterior Bought this one for me and one of the white as a gift. Put food and liquid on low setting and contents was boiling instead of simmering. Switched setting to warm and cooker was barely warm to the touch after about 30 minutes. Returned both units the next day. Need better control over heat settings. Exterior shouldn't be so hot as if cooking on the stove or at least insulate the cooker exterior. Too bad because the 8 quart capacity was perfect.
