Educational Insights GeoSafari Jr. My First Telescope is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dud This telescope was purchased for a 2 year old. A telescope was a Christmas wish from Santa Claus. Perhaps we received a defective telescope, nothing can be viewed through the scope. I found the brochure today that was in the packaging & I found it humorous to see the phases of the moon with the use of this telescope. This telescope is nothing more than a prop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My daughter loves this telescope Love that my daughter can look through it with both eyes. It doesn't have to be used to view the moon, she likes using it to look at birds and critters that hang out in our yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple startup and encourages discovery learning Have you ever tried to get your kids to look through binoculars or a telescope? You'll notice they often have trouble with eye placement and are a bit taken aback by the magnification. Well, this kids' version of the telescope accommodates for that by having a wide field of vision and goggles that help position the child's eyes. When kids experience success with a toy like this, they are more likely to want to continue learning through play. So although this is definitely a more limited telescope best for kids just starting out, it will be a great stepping stone for them to learn how to use this tool and later they can graduate to a more sophisticated version! With this 'scope, you can see the moon 10x magnified, which allows them to get a glimpse of some of the details on the moon's surface. It's the perfect starter tool for little space explorers, and encourages discovery, questioning, and exploration. Included is a guide for phases of the moon. (I received this product in exchange for my honest review).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Durable and Fun for Kids! Children that are in awe of the night sky and outer-space are certain to delight in the Educational Insights: GeoSafari® Jr. My First Telescope! It specifies it's for 4-6-year-old children and I feel that's spot on. My son is 1 month and a few days shy of turning six years old yet he is still enamored with this scope. Its kid-friendly colors, frustration free lens focus and durable design is absolutely perfect for a first telescope. I feel this scope is well worth the price. It's easy to put together and even comes with an extra lock knob if the need arises for it. The tripod legs fold in and out easily. The fact it folds up so nicely makes it simple to find a place to store it. On the bottom of the tripod feet, there's slip-proof grips so it doesn't shift all over when being used. The wide viewing area and the 10x magnification is great! The fact a child can use one eye or both is a nice feature and that there is no hassle in trying to get it in focus. The instructional guide that's included features a variety of languages. It has the instructions on how to put the scope together ( you could simply do it without) and instructs how to use the scope. The tips provided gives parents, teachers, and caregivers an idea about how to create a little bit of a study on the moon and its cycles. I would definitely recommend checking it out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In LOVE with this telescope! This telescope came quickly and was packaged perfectly. Assembly was a breeze (literally 2 minutes). My 3 boys (ages 4-7) have been fighting over this since the day we took it out of the box. They LOVE it... and I love it because it has sparked a lot of educational conversations and it allows them to use their imagination. I was initially worries that it would break because my kids are so rough with their toys.. but, nope. 6 weeks and it hasn't budged. Great quality. The colors are bold and inviting and go well in their playroom. We love this... and would highly recommend purchasing. Five stars!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A New-Found LOVE My toddler was so excited to open up his the My First Telescope to look at the Super Moon this week. It was easy to put together and really easy to use. He was able to start looking through it right away. My only complaint is that the eyepiece falls off rather easily, but it snaps together again in no time. This telescope is very basic and perfect for any young child just starting to take an interest in looking at the night sky. My toddler carries it around the house and tries to look at everything. Its easy to point and find anything you are looking for. There is no adjuster to fix the clarity of vision, but, like I said, perfect for a young learner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great entry level telescope As an entry level telescope, this product is great and has sparked lots of curiosity about outer space. Both my 2 and 4 year old boys love to play and use it. It does not have a lot of options but we can see the moon great. I echo what other reviewers have said, this is a budget friendly and easy to use telescope. Great entry level exploration. If you are looking to see more stars and planet, perhaps consider a more expensive and more complex telescope. This model is durable and able to handle some tough pretend play. It is easy to put together and store as well. After receiving it several weeks ago, it is still a big hit in our house. We received this item as a gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of fun for little explorers This is a great first telescope. The simplicity of use and being able to use both eyes to view was great. Now that it is getting dark earlier, hopefully we'll get outside to check out the stars more. My 5 year old likes to use it to check out birds too.
