Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Canister Vacuum is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 66.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I hate this vacuum I had a Dyson for about 8 years. It was wonderful. It finally died and I decided to get another Dyson. It’s far more expensive than I can afford but my last one was so great, I just had to get a new one. I hate it! The biggest disappointment is that there is no floor attachment. Supposedly having one attachment that can go from carpet to floor is better. Well, I disagree. It sounds like it’s taking a layer of my hardwood floors off with all the scraping. It doesn’t get into the small spaces my old one did. Also, the weird connection from the hose to the handle makes cleaning awkward. I just couldn’t hate a vacuum more and after spending $$$$$$ on it, I’m stuck with it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the greatest... This is my second vacuum purchase from Dyson. My first was an upright model, which I thought was great! Ended up giving it to my parents to use and bought this model since we got a dog. I’ve been using this new cinetic big ball animal vacuum for about a year and a half and am still disappointed in it. There are some PROS to this model: great at picking up my dogs fur from the carpet and the many attachments included. But the CONS make it a fail for me: it’s quite difficult to drag over carpet and the canister lid tends to fall open when I go to dump the contents. There have been one too many times when I go to empty the canister and as soon as I disconnect it from the vacuum, it falls open and all the contents fall all over my floor and vacuum cleaner. I always make sure the lid is closed properly, but the little clip just doesn’t hold at all. I don’t like to use my vacuum anymore because of these cons. I definitely should have gone with my first choice... the cordless vacuum.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not an animal vacuum I have had this vacuum for three years and am very disappointed with it's quality and usefulness. This vacuum is useless with animal hair on carpet.. I have three small dogs who shed lightly, are kept clipped and are mostly house dogs. The house is kept clean. But, not with the help of this vacuum. The dog hair wraps around the brushes and with difficulty has to be cleaned off after every use. After three years the brushes are worn out. The canister holds approximately a quarter cup of dirt and dog hair. This fills the canister with each use. The canister has to be cleaned after each vacuuming. This takes about 15 or 20 mins. You have to shake the canister out (dirt everywhere) then you have to brush the remaining dirt out, which you can't get out no matter how hard you try because the silver button doesn't release the cyclone. (More dirt everywhere). You spend more time cleaning the canister than you spent vacuuming. It works a little better on bare floors but doesn't pick up anything bigger than a grain of sand. It is not user friendly in the way things snap together. The mounting hold for the wand is behind the plug and the wand falls out all the time. Enough already. You get the point. Buy a Bissell animal vacuum for half the price. It cleans the floors and carpets. It picks up all the dog hair and pieces of dirt. The brushes never have to be cleaned. The canister easily empties every sixth or so vacuuming (2-3mins max). It only has a few attachments but they are easy to use. I'll never buy a dyson vacuum again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great for pet hair I bought this a few months ago, I love Dyson I had the v10 which I repacked because I need something that I could use to clean my whole house instead of 1 room. The vacuum is great I love the look and design. I absolutely hate that the dog hair sticks on the outside of the machine instead of being sucked up. I hate that I need an adapter for the attachments.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from excellent suction My biggest complaint is that the cord is too short. I have to stop vacuuming and re-plug the vacuum four times just to do my upstairs living area. Plus it is not recommended to use an extension cord with this machine. Next, it takes quite a bit of effort to move the carpet attachment back and forth over the carpet. My old DC Animal upright made it a snap to vacuum. Finally, The dirt bin is a pain in the rear. It opens easily but to get it to close back up is a real pain since it doesn't want to re-latch. For the money we spent it isn't worth it. My old Dyson animal upright is on it's last legs and I was looking at the big ball Animal without filters. However I am concerned by the reviews that complained about cheap breakable plastic parts and hose issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dyson Cinetic Animal I had my Dyson for some time now. With four dogs and a long hair cat. The Dyson vacums amazingly. I have saved enough money not having to pay bags and belts to pay for it. The wood floor attachment works great. I can even use it on the walls without scratching them. I would have given it a 5 except for one problem. The front of the canister has a small design flaw. It hangs up on everythibg, every corner, chair leg, or item in the house. You have to watch it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Vacuum This is our 2nd animal ball/canister Dyson and it’s horrible. We’ve had it since mid-August and it does nothing but clog up and lose suction. We have a Great Pyrenees that lives inside so we knew that we needed a good vacuum - which is why we went with Dyson Animal again. The old one was many years old and everything just started breaking on it and we attributed it to the age of the machine. This one has no excuses for such poor performance. We get our dog professionally groomed once a month and her undercoat brushed out - she does not have a massive amount of hair, but probably more than a couple of pugs. Today the vacuum started smelling like it was burning but it still had suction. I’m going to see if it can still be returned even though I’m over the 30 days. This is a poorly designed product for Dyson in my opinion.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs improvement Been using for two years now. PROS Great Suction. Tangle Free Tool is great for removing dog hair. CONS. The turbine brush slings dirt and debris everywhere. My opinion is that it spins too fast. A slower brush with higher torque and brushes that grab would be better. The clip on the canister door never holds. Can’t tell you how many times it’s opened upon removal and dumped its contents all over the floor. You have to remember to hold it closed the entire trip to the trash.
