Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Allergy Upright Vacuum is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 635.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally worth the money I've had my Big Ball Animal-Allergy Cinetic vacuum for four months now and absolutely love it. I've definitely noticed a big improvement with my mold allergies since I started using it. There is an attachment for every nook, cranny, and surface in my house---and so far, I haven't scratched any delicate surfaces using the attachments on my walls, tiles, windows, and ceilings and other furniture. Great for cleaning blankets, wool slippers, and Ugg boots, too. The sole con is that the vacuum is so powerful, it generates A LOT of heat, so I have to take breaks every ten minutes while I'm vacuuming to keep myself from getting overheated---I definitely work up a sweat while using this vacuum, as it's sort of a full-body workout, haha. Still, I love the manueverability & versatility of this machine---I find it easy and intuitive to use the attachments---and the excessive heat generated by the vacuum is worth it to me for the sake of the high-powered suction. My favorite purchase I've made this year!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for homes with pets! Our whole house central vacuum system that was 20 years old just wasn't doing a thorough job anymore (as there are too many elbow connections throughout the garage, basement, main level, and the upstairs...not to mention ones that aren't visible in between the walls.) Over time, dust and debris builds up in the elbow joints of all the PVC pipes, which significantly reduces the amount of suction when operating the central vac. Plus, the really long hose was always in the way, and its quilted cover (which enables it to slide along easily), seemed to collect more dog hair than the vacuum itself, which then scattered hair where you already vacuumed while moving on to the next room. After researching several new vacuums of various makes and models, I ended up purchasing the Dyson kinetic big ball animal + allergy. I'm not easily impressed, but this vacuum IS VERY impressive!!! For one of the three free attachments, I selected the grooming attachment to use on my Greyhound. Even though people swear Greyhounds don't shed...they do (and it's "fine" hair like on a cat, so it finds its way into every nook and cranny.) Amazingly she didn't mind being vacuumed at all, and the Dyson got more hair off her than when I use a Furmanator brush on her. But...the real WOW factor was when I vacuumed the 5' x 8' entry way area rug. The Dyson canister filled up with soooooo much dog hair that wasn't even visible on the rug, it was shocking! You would have thought that I had never vacuumed it ever! On other reviews, some people have complained that the suction is too strong, sucking up their area rugs, and/or even ruining them. However, there is a button to shut of the roller brush which prevents that problem from happening on small throw rugs, or thinner large ones. I do think the instruction manuel needs to be updated, and have photos, with written instructions beneath each photo, instead of microscopic written instructions on one of the last pages that don't coincide with the graphics on the other pages. It would be nice if all the attachments were labeled too. (I almost used the mattress attachment on my stairs the 1st time using the vacuum.) Other than those two issues, I just LOVE my new Dyson!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad brush bar I bough it about 2.5 years ego and it is the second time the brush bar needed to be replaced. One of the screws at the end of the brush bar rubs against the soleplate assy, the screw heats up and melts the plastic of the brush bar, which causes the brush bar to get stuck and stop working.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gone Downhill We bought Dyson when it first came on the market. GREAT VACUUM! We had gone through 5 vacuums that year with dogs, kids, and long hair in the house. That Dyson lasted 15 years. Only vacuum that last more than three months in our household. Bought our new Dyson. Died in under a month. Same things for my now-adult daughter. Hers last three months and change. Sometimes you don't need to fix what isn't broke. Really wish Dyson at least had kept the option open for the older models that were well-engineered and built for those of us with heavy duty households.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible on plush carpets I’ve had this vacuum for over a year. The suction is great on hard floors and works well on large area rugs and short carpet. It is heavy, but not such a big deal. HOWEVER, don’t try to use it on plush carpets. It’s like trying to push a truck!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great suction but smells I’ve only had my dyson 2 years. The smell is so bad now I can’t use it. I’ve read lots of similar complaints. $600 machine stinks

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk. I have had mine for a little less than a year and a half. In that time we have had to replace the brush bar assembly twice. We clean the brush bar after every use, it is not used excessively (I sweep 2 times a week, and it takes me about 30 minutes each time to sweep the entire house) The screws that hold the brush bar together just go into plastic, and the plastic keeps melting. Therefore, it is not usable. I spent $700 on this sweeper, thinking it would be better since we have a cat and there are people in our extended family with cat allergies. I wish I had bought something else.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for people allergic to dust I bought this almost 1 year ago because of my cat and dust allergies. It works well until you have to dump the canister. You have to reach your hand into the canister and pull out the dust/hair/debris. It is horrible for dust allergies.
