Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wanted to love I was so excited to get this vacuum cleaner! The first time I used it it was really hard to push. My shoulder hurt afterwards and I really don’t think I’m that out of shape. To drag the canister behind you was a bit cumbersome and was another thing that hurt my shoulders. On a positive note. The suction was amazing and it swept up a lot of things. I just can’t justify spending this kind of money on something that makes me sore when done using it. So I will be sending it back and looking into a shark.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Vacuum of my Dreams! Upon unpacking the box, I looked at the vacuum heads and didn't think much. I feared that I made a mistake. I had an older Dyson canister and it had fair suction. This unit is much smaller. I examined the two floor tools and decided to give it a try. Oh my word...what SUCTION! I was so amazed by the power of this vac. Hardwood...a charm. Decided to take the multi-floor tool for a run in the family room on a very finicky hand made rug. I was floored by all of the fibers it sucked off the rug with out any agitation. My only complaint is the cord could be longer. Needless to say, I put the box out in the trash. If you are looking for lots of suction, this is the one. I am also retiring an older Kirby vac.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW - unbelievable machine This is my 4th Dyson. I have two corded and two cordless units that I use primarily at home. This machine is being used at Church. I used it a few days ago to vacuum the carpet in the main Sanctuary. The person who does that cleaning uses a new Shark Rotator unit. I was really surprised at how much dirt the Dyson got out of the carpet. There was a trememdous amount of very fine dust in the collection container. I then got the idea to vacuum the pew cushions. Oh, LORD, I got out glitter from last Christmas plus all sorts of lint and dust. Clearly, this is a vastly superior machine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Love it Luv this Dyson. My previous Dyson was not a canister. It was the Dyson Ball Animal. I have it for as long as I can remember. Amazing. It is still running but Im tired of carrying up it and down the stairs. So I purchased this canister. What I love about the canister No more cord problems , so sick of vacuum cords and then wrapping up the cord or throwing the cord in a corners.. With the canister it zips back in. Yeah! The canister rolls really well and it follows you without a problem. I no longer have to push a heavy handle. The entire vacuum is light and when I push I dont feel like Im pushing 30 lbs. The suction is amazing. Im picking up stuff all the way deep in the rug. Luv the Muscle head floor tool. This thing is amazing. I can slide the vacum under the bed and it picks up everything. As for improvements, I wish their was some way to store it so the handle is not flopped on the floor , or if they can make a hanging hook. The vacum is plastic and Im always worried they are going to crack or a piece with break off. I dont know why my previous has been banged around and not a problem, but that vacum was a one piece so ... Anyway luv it. The is my 3rd Dyson product and so happy with them all. .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's great, but... I can't deny that Dyson's clean like no other vacuum I've used. I've had an animal upright for years now. I had always wished I bought a canister, not wanting to move furniture everytime I vacuum. (I gave that one to my son) I like this & will keep. But thats not to say I'm not disappointed. 1st ~ directions stink, I had to go to QVC and watch the video in order to find out the information I needed. I am very grateful that QVC does demonstrations. 2nd ~ it pinches bad! if your not paying attention when you move around as you vacuum, the rotating neck pinches your hand right in between your thumb & finger, it hurts ! Got me twice. And 3rd~ it's amazing how something that's lightweight & slim can be difficult to store. It doesn't fit in any of my closets like the upright did, so what to do with it. Lastly, no storage for the accessories, even a box would have been nice. Cost it 1 star!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my dysons I have had an upright Animal Dyson for many years now, and still love it. My old canister vacuum was struggling and when I saw this one what the heck I have attachments that will work with it so I gave it a try and put it together and love it. It really is great for picking up crumbs along the edges with the musclehead attachment on it. I have cleaned my return grates easily with the soft brush head, and can do my lampshades with it as well. The heads swivel well under furniture, and the canister is easy to empty. The reason for only 4 stars is that I wish the extension rod was a bit longer. I am 5'7" and it feels a bit short for me. Other then that I could not be happier. Oh, I forgot to mention I am no longer buying bags any longer because mine were pretty expensive and could not buy them just anywhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A vacuum for short people First, I seem to have gotten a defective one and had to return it. The canister release did not work properly on mine. It took some finagling to get the dirt out and made a mess which completely defeated the purpose of getting a bag-less vacuum. I am 5'9" and my friend is 5'4" and we both felt the [short] distance from the handle to the floor was too much of a strain on our backs. IF the distance between the handle and the floor were longer and IF the canister release had worked, I would have kept the vacuum. However I do not see the need for two heads - just one that works well on both floor and carpet would be good - also like the old Dysons which had a place to carry the attachments on board. I have one of the very first Dyson's and have been looking to upgrade, but the new ones are not made as well - planned obsolescence at work I guess

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dyson Top of the Line Okay, here goes. This is the most expensive vacuum I have ever purchased (44 years of homemaking). It seems to be sturdy with lots of attachments and all the bells and whistles. Features that I think I will enjoy: self righting if it tilts over, extending feature to reach high ceilings, super suction and no bags. Dyson name (after investigation) seems top rate. Problem: putting it together seems very complicated, lots of attachments and parts and instructions aren’t very clear. So, I haven’t actually used it yet. One day when I feel up to the challenge I will drag it out and try again.
