Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works and looks as promised I purchased this the very first day it came online and prayed for the best after reading reviews for the last model. I think with any item or small electronic, you either get a good one or a lemon. Thankfully, ours has been perfect. My mom moved in with us and she stays in the den downstairs. We keep our thermostat on 68 as we don’t like it hot, but of course, that makes the den downstairs colder. The unit arrived in perfect condition. I got the French gray which is really more of a taupey gray. Everything works on it perfectly although I will say this.....I set it on 72, turned the flames up to high and it stays that way. I’ve only turned it off once when no one was going to be here for awhile and turned it back on when we returned, and it remembered the setting we previously had it on. So in other words, it’s not constantly being adjusted or turned on and off. That room is probably about a 20 x 15 area. It heats it fine. It’s not a heater where your gonna feel a bunch of heat blowing out; it heats the room up gradually to 72 then cuts itself off and then back on again. When my mom closes the door at night and I go down to give her coffee in the morning, it’s pleasantly warm. With the door open during the day, it doesn’t feel as warm but still nice. (It probably just runs more during the day to keep it at 72). I’ve had absolutely no problems with anything and it’s a beautiful item. Also, I’m pretty sure my heating bill is lower than it normally is this time of year so that’s a plus. In summary, this thing has run continually, only turned off one time, since November! I’m extremely pleased with the purchase. My mom loves it and it looks really nice in the room. If you’re looking for something that gradually gets an area up to temp, then I recommend. If you’re looking for something that shoots out a ton of heat all at once, then pass on this one. It is also quiet. One more thing, I find it is cool to the touch all over except where the heat comes out the vent in the front. You can touch it there but if you were to leave your hand there, then yes, it would get hot. But it’s not something where if you touched it for a second, you’d get burned. We have it sitting on the brick hearth in front of the hole in the fireplace so it’s off the floor about a foot. I have 3 cats and no problem with them either. We just love it. Sorry for writing a book.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't heat space as advertised I bought as a Christmas present for my daughter who has a 975 sq ft house with a gas heater that doesn't work. I thought this product would help. It didn't heat up the living room which is small.it didn't blow out enough heat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really nice, but... I have three Duraflame stove heaters for each room. When I saw this one that was all glass I wanted to get it for my living room. But here's my issue with this one and the others I have. They just are not bright enough. I like the 3d flame effect, but it's not bright enough like a real flame. It's disappointing. Why is it so dim? And yes, I have it on the brightest setting. I will be returning this for that reason. I want a bright flame like a real one when there is a fire in the fireplace. I like the warmth it gives and the look of the stove, but please make the flames brighter. It's too dim. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best One Yet This is my 3rd Duraflame Heater and, while I love the other 2, this is my favorite. The style with all the glass, which makes it look like a real fireplace, and the fact it heats such a large area quickly, makes this a wonder addition to my family room and Christmas decor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful but not Warm This unit is very stylish and I love the panoramic view, but where's the heat? I turned the bright light down, but maybe I need to keep it on in order to feel the heat. But that makes the heater look less attractive. Since I own other Duraflame heaters, I keep this one for the ambience.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed ! I have purchased several of these Duraflame heaters and have always have been pleased the heat they produce. Not so with this one. It does not put the hot air out into the room. You have to stand in front of it to feel the heat. It also arrived with a dent in the top, which I was willing to overlook. The remote control is read on a small reader inside the unit. which is very difficult to see. in my opinion that should be on the outside of the unit where it can be read. (Like where the control panel is. I put the box out with the trash as I was not expecting to ever need it. Now I have to go buy a box to return it. Soooooo Disappointed but not willing to pay for something that I feel is sub-standard.
