Demeyere Industry 3.5-qt Stainless Steel Essential Pan is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size/flexibility; Demeyere quality!! Terrific size. Can be used for anything you would use a sauce pan for; plus the curved bottom makes it great for stews, soups, risottos. You can even use this as a medium-sized wok substitute to stir fry food. Great even heat distribution. Cleans up easily and looks great. The stay-cool handles work extremely well on both the pan and the cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great multi-purpose and well-made pan This pan works really well for my style of cooking and types of dishes I cook, usually for 2-4 servings. It will brown proteins at high temperature, saute vegetables at medium temperature and braise dishes at low temperature, either in the oven or on a low burner without localized scorching or burning. The high sides really reduce splattering during high temperature browning. The heavy bottom and side contruction also means that it works well as a small wok for a two-person meal. Cleanup with heavy duty plastic scrubbers doesn't damage the inside or outside surfaces. The only downside I can see is that it may be too heavy for a small person to use, particularly when full of food - I'm 6 foot 4 inches tall, 200 lb and it works great for me. My sweetie is 5 foot 6 inches and weighs 120 lb and it's a bit too heavy for her, but since I do most all of the cooking, no problem! I bought one of these for my son for his birthday and he's very happy with it as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very versatile and saves cleaning many pots I'm really benefitting from using this as a one source pot for many meals. After boiling pasta I'm adding the sauce. To make gumbo I brown most of the vegetables and sausage in different batches. I can lift the pan and toss food like a skillet. Then I add all ingredients together including the shrimp to simmer. The pot holds a lot of water et al. It does get heavy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, a joy to cook with I bought this size saucier because the one I wanted (2 qt) was out of stock and I needed something relatively fast. So glad I got this size. I've used it to make all kinds of things-- risotto, sauces, custard for ice cream-- and it turns out to be a great size to have around. It cleans up easily, and the shape really does make it easier to stir constantly without having to scrape the "corners." So far haven't found anything this is too big for, so I'd say it's going to be more versatile than the 2 qt.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Terrible unboxing!! Since ordering, what a pain! Arrived after weeks, and then arrived in a thick, glued shut cardboard box I had to rip open. After ten minutes of struggle, found more activities in the form of stickers. A massive sticker in the middle– just with their ugly logo. In case I missed it on the it on the lid, the handle, and bottom. ugh, the serious ego!! Plus, an additional sticker on the bottom with–you guessed it–their logo. Took me 10 min to open the box, 15 min to remove the stickers, and i'm still probably going to be eating glue. As far as the pan, it's FINE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential is an understatement When they say Essential they aren't kidding. I have done rice (watch rice the time needed to cook, particularly sticky rice is reduced). I cooked Wild Rice and boiled potatoes for potato salad in it. I do everything with this pan....and I have only been using it a couple of weeks. It is my go to and I love it. The size and shape is perfect

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fit [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The lid fits securely so no steam escapes making it even more efficient. I love the design of the handle, extremely easy to move your pan around. The stainless steel is amazing; never scratching, staining or warping. It is the perfect pan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It really is and Essential Worker If you want to jump into quality cookware, this Industry 5 Essential Pan is the place to do it. Shaped like a saucier, but deep enough to retain moisture longer, this pan will become your go to. It's a perfect size for cooking and blanching vegetables, boiling pasta for 1 or 2 people, making rice and beans and grains for a couple of days. Where it shines is sauces. The way the pan is constructed, the bottom stays flat, so when you are sauteing aromatics, everything cooks evenly - no burnt bits. the high sides keep splatter contained and the flared sides help sauces to reduce and concentrate flavor. Industry 5 is made with 5 layers: 2 stainless and 3 aluminum so the pan heats quickly, evenly and consistently. No hot spots. It is also responsive to all cooktops: heating and cooling at your command. The handles stay cool while on the stove and exterior treatment keeps the pans looking like new. One comment: if you like the way pans look when they are new, hand wash. They will keep that shiny quality. But these are definitely dishwasher safe.
