Rated 4 out of 5 by from TO ME, FROM ME WITH LOVE Old lady here who has lived her life in the kitchen since I was nine years old. I love food prep and have a professional background in Food and Beverage Management in major hotels in Chicago (old habits, etc.). That being said, there was an article in the Chicago Tribune many years ago where the food section did a comparison of cookware ... everything from those multi-thousand dollar cookware clubs to the top-named 18/10 stainless ... all the way down to the 12" cast iron skillet ($15-30). CAST IRON WON! I recently moved into a new apartment with one of those new, trendy electric stoves ... black glasstop. Well, despite using my very good 18/10 stainless cookware, there isn't any air exchange between the cooktop and the cookware and no immediate response in adjustments. I'm very energy conscious and an induction cooktop has been on my wish list for at least a year. When I saw this previewed, I took a chance (QVC has been easy to deal with so if I had to return it, I could AND WOULD.) I liked the depth of the pan, the steaming rack, the square configuration (for my big pot roasts, corn on the cob), the promised quick temp reduction, the induction cooktop being compatible with my cast iron, temperature control, also, the portability of the unit. I read the reviews and despite our (reviewers') best intentions, sometimes there is confusion like the review that after setting the temp, the unit kept shutting off. That was because after setting the temp, you have to hit start - I know, it happened to me too. I'm giving this 4 stars instead of five because I haven't anything to compare it to. I'm sure there are better induction cooktops out there but I'm so happy with this. I've truly enjoyed this cooking experience and I have a surprise planned for the next time my grandkids (my babies) are here. CHOCOLATE FONDUE WITH FRESH FRUIT! ps: I'll keep you posted

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This Burner Has Changed the Way I Cook I have been wanting to try an induction burner for a while and finally this one was on clearance. It works wonderfully. My pans heat in literally seconds. I've had no problem getting it to high temps and it sears as well as a range. I rarely use the included pan because I have so many of my own but it's huge and will come in handy. I have no idea why there's so many negative reviews but I've used mine for a couple of months and love it. I rarely use my stovetop anymore.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from huge disappointment giant waste of money. tried to sear some meat. wouldn't get hot enough. thought this would be great to use at my BBQ but wouldn't get hot enough to really cook anything. copper pan seems ok but induction burner is worthless. probably give it to goodwill.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor choice for me After viewing the item we purchased it. After receiving it I look over the material that came with the item. The pans that you used with the item should have a magnetized so I would have the pan that came with it which was nice and than have to go out and buy more pans to use with it. I was just afraid to mess with the item and decided the best thing to do would be send it back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless I have been wanting to try both the Copper cookware & an induction cook top--so the best of both worlds in this offer. Be careful what you wish for--it might come true---definitely the case here. Cookware is middlin at best--pretty light weight! The cook top would not get water or oil above 288 degrees so it has no place in my kitchen--back it went. I see this has been the case in several other instances--why is there no better oversight at the Q anymore?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from THE WORST PRODUCT EVER I think I said it all in the title, but that was referring to the induction burner. HA induction it should be called reduction burner since it starts off as OFF and after one minute goes back to off and the cookware NEVER GETS HOT. It found it's way to the garbage hoping the sanitation people will take it instead of telling me to bury it. You should be ashamed of yourselves for selling such garbage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I had been looking for a new induction cooktop since my old one wasn't working properly. This was is far superior to my old one and works much better. Very easy to use. I have a whole set of copper cookware and this piece was great for my collection. I had the casserole pan before but wore it out using it so much. I had gotten it when they first came out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water doesn't boil Water just not boil. It gets hot, but it doesn't boil. There's no instructions for what temp to set the cooktop at to boil water or how long it should take. I called Copper Chef and have been told 2 different temps but they don't know how long it will take. My husband tried to call QVC and was on hold over an hour. I set it on 425 and even after 40 minutes it still was not boiling. I'm very disappointed in this product and QVC. It will be returned.
