Copa Judaica Ellis Island Collection PorcelainDoll - Molly

Copa Judaica Ellis Island Collection PorcelainDoll - Molly
product thumbnail
Filled with excitement, Molly prepares to begin a new life in America. Her father is a professor and her mother an accomplished dressmaker who made her entire outfit, down to her travel bag in which Molly carries a little dog, a gift from her eldest brother, Bernard. Around her neck she wears her most precious possession, a small goldtone Star of David threaded on a dark brown satin ribbon.

Inspired by the collected memories of Eastern European Jewish immigrants from the late 1800s, this doll reminds us of their troubles and triumphs in building new lives for themselves in America. From the Ellis Island Collection of Porcelain Dolls.

Copa Judaica Ellis Island Collection PorcelainDoll - Molly is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not exactly as shown Molly's outfit is burgundy, not brown. Also, her face is not in the "expectant" expression shown and described. She is just a normal, pretty doll and her period costume will be appreciated by doll collectors. Had wanted her as a reminder of a Jewish friend who had passed and whose father was a holocaust survivor. He wasn't a professor, as in the description, but close to it as a scientist. Instead of putting her in my brown and black guest room, decided to keep her for Christmas as she is much more holiday than immigrant. I was disappointed, but have adjusted and wanted people to know she is not exactly as shown.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love her! I bought this because my granddaughters name is Molly. I am very much into DNA and when mine was tested I was part Jewish, so I had to have her. Beautiful features and a nice sturdy stand. I also had many relatives come through Ellis Island from England Ireland and Italy. and we have visited Ellis Island, many years ago. Wonderful historical doll. Love the outfit and the necklace.
