Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best! I have all of the expensive cookware, Calphalon, Circulon, Le Cruset, etc., but I always return to my good old stand by....CooksEssentials. I don’t know why all pans don’t have the lock and drain feature, but I won’t ever buy another pan without it! These pans are light weight and cook great! I left one similar to this one on the stove on high and it still cooks well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! I bought this pasta pot to replace my old one that was on its last legs. This one works great and is easy to clean. It does drain a little slower than I am used to because it has such a small area of drain holes, but that's not really a big issue at all. Lid fits and works perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Size This is the perfect size for boiling big pots of pasta. I have teenage boys and when we make pasta, we make a lot of pasta. No more needing two pans of boiling water. I love the locking lid. Some reviewers mention issues with the locking lid. Just like other new items, it's stiff at first but becomes easier with each use. I'd rather have it too sturdy than too loose. After a few uses, mine is perfect. I bought black and very pleased with quality and construction of pot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great Pot - Poor Lid Construction I read the reviews before I ordered this stockpot and knew there was an issue with the locking drain lid but thought it was a minor issue. I’m returning it as the lid is impossible to lock correctly and then once you work with it and lock it, it’s next to impossible to unlock. Many years ago, I ordered a Cooks Essential stock pot with drain lid and it’s my favorite pot for pasta. This purchase was for my daughter for Christmas but I couldn’t give it to her with the lid issue. The pot is a great size - love the color (red), but not worth the effort. QVC - Please find a replacement for it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lid is REALLY hard to lock and unlock I really want to love this pot because the size and the lid that both locks and drains is just what I needed for making soups and stocks. But the lid is really hard to lock on and unlock - even when it works it doesn't line up correctly with the draining holes and looks to be at least a quarter-inch "off" from being fully locked on. Other pots I own with locking lids work very smoothly and take very little effort to close and open but this one has to be forced. I even had to push out the inside metal rim of the lid a tiny bit just to get it to lock at all, and it still needs a LOT of effort to work - NOT a good thing if you have a pot full of bubbling-hot soup stock! I tried just boiling water in it for a few hours and it seems to have helped a tiny bit although the lid still needs to be forced to get it on or off, but I'm worried that having to constantly force the lid will eventually put so much pressure on the lid's handle that the glass lid will simply crack and I'll end up with soup full of broken glass and a useless pot. There's already a scratch where the inside coating is being scraped off by the metal lid edge rubbing against it. This one is probably going back, maybe the 8-quart version in the hard-anodized will be easier and safer to use. Too bad, I really liked the size and the color but it's just not worth the risk. Maybe I just got a bad one but a problem like this should have been caught at the factory before the unit was packaged. I guess manufacturers don't bother with Quality Control departments any more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Spaghetti/Pasta Pot Can't believe nobody has reviewed this pot yet. This is a great pasta pot with dual drainage spouts and a securely locking lid. One side of the glass lid has small draining holes, while the other side has large which line up perfectly with the drain spouts once lid is locked. This is a relatively heavy weighted pot which I expect will last longer than some of the other trash pots out there. Just remember to use nylon or plastic utensils to protect the inside of the pot and it should last years. My usage of this pot is about 4 times a week.
