Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful little pressure cooker I have bought 2 of the larger ones, one for my house in Florida and one for my house in Tennessee. I love them and use almost everyday so I decided to get this smaller one. It is perfect when cooking for one or two people. These micro-wave pressure cookers are the best purchases I have made. I am thinking about getting some for Christmas presents if they are still in stock. You can't go wrong if you get any of these. Wish I could give it a least a 10 star !!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from My introduction to microwave pressure cooking +/- Shortly after receiving this pressure cooker I tried the beef goulash recipe per the enclosed instructions. Observing all the very complex written instructions, I cooked the goulash exactly per instruction. During the cooking process there was a strong but pleasurable goulash smell in the kitchen. At the end of the cycle I opened the microwave and noted that the visual pressure indicator immediately dropped without touching it. Just to be safe I waited for a little while and then opened the pressure cooker. The dish was tasty but the meat was very rubbery. I guess substituting the beef in the recipe with pork was probably my big mistake. I probably need some guidance as to how I would cook the goulash with pork. I find that the use/instruction booklet that came with the appliance looked cheap and some of the instructions seemed to be unduly complicated typically written by someone who did not have English as their first language. Looking at the videos that are used for demonstrating on how to use this appliance I observed that the appliance appeared to be over filled for some dishes. I am now realizing maybe overfilling the appliance was probably my biggest initial mistake. I am also disappointed that there is no steaming disc with the K46992 like the one that came with the K40490 pressure cooker. In summary, I guess it is a useful kitchen appliance but I believe that the design, shape and size of the bowl etc. of the larger vs the smaller pressure cooker has an impact on the recipes and the outcome of the cooking process. Trying to fill the bowl with exactly the goulash ingredients called for the liquid level was definitely above the top mark on the the bowl. This was probably the reason of the malfunction in my recipe. I'll continue to slosh through this, but it does not make me very happy. It's cheap! I'll probably have to learn how to master this appliance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy little pressure cooker I personally own two large cooks essentials pressure cookers, and the Wolfgang puck pressure oven. But I wanted something I could just pull out and quickly cook something. I have used this for frozen Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and today cream of carrot soup. This works wonderfully. When you don’t want to drag out the big boys this is perfect. I have a lectin intolerance and cannot eat tomatoes, peppers etc unless they are pressure cooked. If I want to used jarred pasta sauce I could do this in 3-4 minutes! I really love this little guy! It came four days ago and have used it four times! Don’t hesitate buying this, and what a great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for small meals! I live alone and my large pressure cooker is just too big to haul out for a single sweet potato. This is perfect for one pork chop, a potato and maybe a carrot. Works like a charm and is very easy to clean. LOVE IT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I wish I had used this 20 years ago when my kids were growing up! It's a time savior, and my first use of it was easy! I made beef broccoli with flank steak and the beef was very tender/juicy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from More work than advertised Since I am a person of limited mobility I rejoiced when I saw this product on QVC. It was presented as a time saving convenience but when i read the recipe book I saw that many of the recipes called for browning the meat first- this means standing over a hot stove. Might as well just place in a casserole dish in the oven after browning. The only up side would be that the cooking time is shorter- not easier. So disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cook's Essentials 2.4 Qt. Microwave Pressure Cooke I had good results using this microwave pressure cooker (Cook's Essential 2.4 Qt.). I fixed the Pot Roast with vegetables from the Prepology recipe manual I found online that had other recipes that did not get put in the booklet that came with the pressure cooker. The time to cook it was almost spot on. It said cook 40 minutes I did 35 minutes (my microwave is 1100 watts).. The meat and vegetables were done in that time. I gave it 4 stars because I just used it a few days ago for the first time. I plan on trying another recipe soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cooker!! I was skeptical that this would work, but imagine my surprise when it did! The instructions were not the best. The lid is not that easy to get on either, but once I figured out how to get it on, all was well. The cooking times in the instructions are definitely not right. I cooked fresh green beans and ended up cooking them for about 30 minutes. I gauge the cooking times from the time the pressure actually builds up in the cooker. One of my friends was over when I used it for the first time and she liked it so much she ordered one of her own. If you are willing to get through the frustration of the instructions and figuring out the cooking times, you will love this little cooker. For the price, I may order more for gifts.
