Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Very Good Camera! I have had my 80D for 1 1/2 years and have taken several thousand photos so far. I am very well pleased with it. I am primarily a landscape photographer. I usually like to manually focus but on a recent trip to the Smokies I decided to use auto focus. I must say that the dual pixel auto focus did an outstanding job. I highly recommend this camera!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After Micro adjusting Leach Lens..Fast and Perfect I have had the Camera for about a year. At first I was disappointed with the focus. Then I discovered Micro-Adjustment. I bought a SPyderLensCal and spent a day adjusting each lens. Takes patience and time but the result is astounding. The Camera is fast and doesn't hunt for focus. I like the fact that it will take EFS and EF lenses so I don't have to worry about which lens format I purchase. L-Lenses perform GREAT on this Body. I have attached a photo of fall leaves I think shows the cameras ability to faithfully reproduce color and deal with multiple focus points. I did have to downsize the photo to meet this sites standard so there is some loss in the image. I use Paint Shop Pro 20. This was taken hand held Canon EF 24-105mm 1:4L IS II USM Lens ISO 640 AV-Priority, f8, 1/32 shutter focal length 24mm. Auto Exposure Metering Type: Pattern. Image Stabilization: ON The image was not manipulated in any way other than downsized. I could have mounted the 80D on my SLIK 400D Tripod. Taken some time, use mirror lockup, a remote release and so on and the photo would have been better no doubt. However, You don't always have the time for that and I think this shows what can be done by just pointing up and shooting. This shows the capability of the camera. The photo of the tomato was taken hand held with an EF 70-200mm f4L USM ISO 160 f7.1 1/256 shutter metering mode: Spot Focal Length: 200mm. This lens does not have Image stabilization. It is one of my older L glass Lenses. But Color rendition and bokeh are spot on. Some people don't like the articulating screen....However it does allow you to turn the screen toward the camera body when not in use and keep it from being damaged...big plus. All in all, this is a great camera to have even as a pro for a backup. (this is why I like EF and EF-S Lens capability) The camera will do a lot. There is a lot of menus to learn and adjustments to be made. However once learned it is a powerful photographer tool. That being said it may be a bit much for an armature or beginner. (which is why I think there are some unfair reviews about focus capabilities...just not knowing how to operate the camera) I have been using Canon equipment since 1976. This is by far the most capable and versatile piece of equipment I have owned. When paired with a 600EX II-RT Speedlite it is a fantastic portrait camera. My intention is to move to a EOS 50DS after I retire and make photography my full time profession, but this will always be my go to back up for digital photography. I still have and Use some of my original 35mm Canon Cameras. They are rock solid tough. I expect no less from this piece of equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In a world full of Sony, this is a gem Let me first state that this is a FANTASTIC camera for YouTube, vlogging more specifically. The loss of 4K is made up by incredibly accurate autofocus during video. I mainly shoot video, but it is also a beast in the sense of photography. I have two 80Ds in my house. The weather sealing is also important to me, and it works. The traditional Canon interface makes it easy for almost anyone to learn their way around it. The prices on lenses also make it easy to gravitate to Canon naturally anyway. I also own a Canon G7X Mark II, as well as a GoPro Hero 5 Black, but the amazing quality of the 80D makes me forget about the weight when vlogging, compared to the G7X's nearly weightless body of 11oz. All of the Manual controls and freedom to customize your camera is amazing, whatever your styles may be with the 80D you can make it your own camera. Also, the touch and articulating screen. This is GOLDEN if you're vlogging. You need this feature 100%. Finally, battery life is really good on this camera. After a full day of shooting and reviewing media in playback, I only go through 1 1/2 to 2 batteries. Say goodbye to buying 5 Sony batteries! If you buy this product and you give it a shot, I guarantee that you will love it. Whether it's the autofocus, 1080p60 slow-mo, burst rate of 7fps, or manual options, you're going to love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my 80D Let me just start by saying this camera is a workhorse. I switched over from a D3200 which I used for 5 years. I have been really happy with my decision. Video on this camera is amazing. I shoot 24fps at 1080p and it delivers amazing quality video. The dual pixel auto focus is crisp and on point. If you are an amatuer trying to perfect the world of video this is a great place to start. The user interface is easy to use and convenient. Great quality product for this price. I wasn't ready to drop the money on a full frame that yielded similar results so this was a great option for me. If I had to list the pros they would be - Dual pixel auto focus. - Great user interface. - Ability to take amazing pictures as well as video. - Flip out touch screen. - All around workhorse of a camera. Cons - Would have loved to see 1080p at 120fps. - I wish it had the option for dual SD cards. Honestly if you are looking for an affordable APC sensor camera that can capture awesome photos as well as videos without breaking the bank I would recommend checking this camera out. I made the switch to Canon and wont be looking back. The next thing I want to do is add some glass to my kit. Thinking of going with the 50mm 1.8 first. Might buy the portrait travel kit that comes with both 50mm 1.8 and 10-18mm.
