Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most useful multi tasker I have loved my similar, older CDN unit for ages and look forward to an updated model now from QVC. While it gets most use in my kitchen, the unit helps me care for older pets who need to be kept warm for trips to the vet clinic. I slip the temp probe beneath bedding in the carrier to be sure they stay comfy, and the clock lets me time their acupuncture sessions since I never wear a watch. Newbies, have patience, bit of a learning curve to use easily, but once mastered, this is super useful. Battery life seems extensive to me, maybe close to a year. CDN I would LOVE a backlit face option!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NO "OFF" SWITCH You would think that this should be an easy product to use. Before you can begin to use it, it needs to be set-up. The directions for use were confusing. (I had a unit that finally died after 15 years. It was so easy to use, the directions were not needed.) Finally figured it out, went to put it away until I needed it and there is no way to turn it off without taking out the batteries. There is no button or switch. Every time I would use it, It would have to be set-up again. I do not roast meat too often, so it would probably need new batteries every time I needed it. Back it went. I can't say how it worked because I was so annoyed that I couldn't turn it off, I never used it! So I gave it two stars instead of one.
