Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why no response from Black and Decker on this? Agree with all the reviewers about how quickly this unit goes through line and am wondering why B&D doesn't seem to respond. Is it because they know its no good, don't have a solution to fix it and don't want to buy back the ones they've sold. Perhaps there's a spring on the line feeder assembly that breaks right away? Would like to know if there's a solution to this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Make The Same Mistake I Did. I rarely submit reviews but I am so disappointed in this Black & Decker product, and hope to prevent others from making the same mistake I did. I've purchased many B&D lawn products over the years. Never again. The automatic line feature does not work as advertised. I have to stop every few feet to take it apart and advance the line manually. Totally frustrating. I'm tossing it out in the garbage after owning it less than month. B&D should take this item off the market & recall sold units.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Automatic feed does not work The product works quite well--for about 2 minutes. The automatic feed did not work and the string ended up only about 1.5 inches and had to remove the cap (no easy task) to lengthen the cord. Use 2 for two minutes and repeat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst purchase ever ! I bought a black and decker weed eater back in April, I also purchased three spools of line that are 30' each , I went through all three packs simply trimming the edges of my 1/3rd acre suburban lot ! I've come to the conclusion that I could pay somebody five dollars more than I spent on line to cut, edge, and trim with a weed eater! I've had it too long to return to the store, I'll probably sell it at a garage sale or throw it away! Either way it's not worth anywhere close to what I paid for it !

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Short comings No problems with excessive line use but miss the edger guide on earlier models. Good power...While the wheel makes it easy to move, you have to concentrate to get an even edge. Length is too short. I'm only 5'9" and find myself stooping to edge or trim

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy If they wanted, Black and Decker could create a product that was much easier and less expensive to use. Replacing the string is a major pain and buying pre-wound spools is expensive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never again!!! This weed cutter and trimmer. is worthless, hard to work with, and unable to get replacement spools.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Whoever engineered this should feel ashamed I don't typically write product reviews, but this trimmer has made me so incredibly frustrated I can't help myself. Like others have mentioned, the spool on this is so bad you'll find yourself wanting to beat this product against the ground as hard as you can until it breaks into a dozen pieces. If you like weed whacking in 20 second intervals before spending 5 minutes respooling your line, this is the tool for you. The line unspooling and whipping you in the legs is a fun feature too. I've tried multiple different trimmer lines in this and I can confirm: it is the B&D trimmer that is the issue, not the line. By far the worst weed trimmer I've ever used.
