A Note from the Designer

"This key charm with my signature flower in 18K rose gold is striking enough to stand alone, but it also works with an enhancer or other charms. Black and pink work beautifully together on an aesthetic and symbolic level. Pink is said to evoke calm and acceptance, while the energy of black is that of protection, strength, and fascination."

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful but misleading pic First let me say, I got this at a sale price of $183.00. I would have not purchased it if it were the $262.00 price it is now, as I just cannot justify the higher price for what it is. The main problem I have is if you look at the web site pic, it clearly shows that there is rose gold on the actual key part—the part that juts out, where the small Rhodolite stone is set with four prongs. The rose gold is pictured on the prongs and on the back where the Rhodolite is set. That is NOT a true depiction of what I received. My pendant has ALL silver at that part. The ONLY rose gold is in the main “flower” part of the pendant. I don’t get it—was a prototype made which was going to have rose gold holding the small Rhodolite? I don’t know, but I thought I’d point it out, in case someone else was expecting rose gold in that area. Also, the way the pendant is made, when it lays on your chest, there is a pointy part that jabs you in the chest. Mind you, it’s not bad, but it is something for people to consider when buying this piece. Now, having said my “bad” stuff, I’ll say this is truly beautiful!! To me, it’s the perfect size—it is smaller, but definitely big enough for me! It is noticed easily on my neck, and I agree with the reviewer who stated that the rose gold flower part is more substantial than on some of her other pieces. Anyway, I don’t usually leave reviews, but I thought I’d share my two cents. I’m still debating on whether to return, but it is gorgeous (and I did get easy pay and sale price) so I may have to keep this little beauty! Im attaching photos (if I can) to show the SILVER (not rose gold) part that is misleading in the web site pic. Hope this helps. I HOPE the pics show up properly!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exquisite Little Key Like the other reviewer, I too was underwhelmed when I opened the box. I knew this wasn't going to like one of BB's other longer keys, but I was a tad disappointed in the size seeing it for the first time. Aside from the length, this has got to be one of the most gorgeous keys Barbara has ever done. It's also a very expensive key for the size. For the price, Barbara could at least have had the black sapphires go all the way around; especially because there aren't that many of them. The rose gold presence is fantastic, maybe that explains the price. How AWESOME this key would be in the larger size! Anyway, I'm deducting 1 star because I think the sapphires should have gone all the way around. I also think the price is way too high for the size. I'm going to keep it, though, because it's so beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Follow-up re: dragon key First, let me say this key is lovely, like all of BB's keys. Because there's no way to submit a second review regarding the same item, I'm adding it here (hope it get's past Q review). I've been reading all of the reviews about the Dragon key and I think I have some helpful information to add to the discussion. Many have stated that the body/tail of the dragon is dull and the stones at the tip of the tail don't stand out. I'm definitely a fan of oxidation, but I prefer that the silver not be too dark. A while back, I carefully cleaned my "Key of Dreams: with jewelry cleaner and the result was magnificent. The garnets sprang to life and popped like never before. I decided to give it a try on the Dragon Key and the result is nothing short of spectacular. The abalone/MOP body/tail is much more vibrant and fiery, The stones in the tail are much brighter and show up without specifically looking for them. The whole tail is now a fluid mass of fire. I might do a little more careful cleaning and I do recommend CAREFUL cleaning to avoid causing any damage to the key and stone settings. So, if you think you'd like your Dragon Key to be brighter I cautiously recommend giving it some attention. I liked my key to begin with, but now I love it even more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chopard girl Love the rose gold flower that is bigger on this charm than her other pieces. I wear it with two Bronzo black spinel necklaces for a great layered look. This combo looks lite and airy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the Wait! I think I was one of the first to receive this little beauty. I have to be honest...when I first took it out of the box, I was underwhelmed. So I went around and around about whether I'd return it or keep it. Then I started playing around with my TSV, and suddenly it seemed to bloom into an absolute STUNNER! I started looking more and more closely at it. There is so much detail packed into this charm that it's unbelievable. It seemed a bit pricey to me at first, but I get it now. Take my word for it that it's worth the price. A LOT went into this charm. It will look so beautiful with so many other charms and pieces, that I now think of this as a must-have. As always, thank you, Barbara!
