Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a Shame I purchased David's cookbook when it first aired quite a while back and was very very disappointed. Funny, I thought I was the only one that felt this way. David has awesome and simple recipes on the air and that is what I thought I was getting but this book is not worth the money. Can you say pretentious? A chili recipe with 21 ingredients plus three toppings! All the recipes are too long and too time consuming with way too many ingredients. I didn't want a cookbook by Julia Child, just quick, easy and tasty which is what I got with MarkCharles Misilli's cookbook. That is why I am writing this review so long after my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love David and Live the Cookbook! This is a great cookbook! I am thrilled with all the recipes and would make most (we do not eat seafood). Do not worry about the comments on pictures and "rare" ingredients and the structure of the cookbook not being exactly what some readers expect. Everyone has their own personal idea of how a cookbook should be structured. I think this one is informative, steps are easy to follow, and ingredients are easy to find. The pictures are beautiful of the food and yes, David is in a few, but so what? There are only a few of them. As far as rare ingredients, I did not see any that could not be found at a local grocery store or possibly substituted. David... these recipes are simple and delicious! Love the chapters on appetizers, pressure cookers, and slow cookers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SMART cookbook! Back Around the Table is for the home cook that is a food lover and wants to prepare fine homemade meals. It is smart in that it leaves out all the gratuitous steps just to make it "chef mystical". The recipes are delicious and home cook approachable. Smart Cookbook! Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It! This has to be my favorite cookbook! I have a few others that I've made one or two recipes out of but the recipes in this one are delicious and a hit with the whole family!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm Glad I Bought It. A cookbook every kitchen should have rather you're a beginner or an experienced cook. This book has not collected dust like so many of my other cookbooks have.
