Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful online, but looks cheap when delivered This ginger jar lamp looked so good online! I was excited to give it as a Christmas gift for a dear friend. I'm glad I opened the box and examined the jar before wrapping it. It looks really cheap. Glue or some sort of laminate on seams. On/off/timer button is also pointy and sharp. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Fits right in with my Polish Stoneware collection because of the dark blue decoration on the ginger jar. Lovely, subtle lighting. I actually thought this had a flickering affect, but I am more pleased that it is a steady light. Very well made, substantial weight, painted decorations are perfect and a steal at this price. Larger than I thought it would be which is nice. Only problem, the one I received had a defective timer mode, stayed on constantly. Notified CS and they were kind enough to give me an even exchange, no cost to me for return shipping. Replacement works like a charm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Illuminated Ginger Jar! After reading some of the reviews I was hesitant to purchase, but took a chance as other reviews stated that this little ginger jar was beautiful. I was happily surprised when I received it in the mail and opened the package (which was well protected by the way) and found a delight inside. The 7.5" porcelain ginger jar by Valerie is absolutely stunning. It is blue and white (note, the yellow as pictured in the advertisement is supposed to be the light coming from within and it doesn't have yellow in the design), and it goes well with my other ginger jar which is not illuminated like this one is. I believe that you will be happy to receive yours too if you take and chance on the little porcelain jar with pizzazz!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Disappointed My ginger jar arrived today, and I was so anxious to try it out! Unfortunately it has a crack in the bottom of the jar as well as a few random "bumps" in the glazing. At first I thought that might be part of the design, but it is only in about 3 or 4 places and is very inconsistent. I had not read any of the reviews previously so I decided to do so. I see that others have had "quality control" issues as well. One reviewer stated something about grains of sand, and that is what these bumps sort of look like except they are larger. Am disappointed but will not reorder. I see they have these available "As Is". I wonder if mine came from that group?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Impossible to get one without defects I should have learned my lesson with VPH products but I really wanted this ginger jar so gave it another try. As soon as I opened it, saw it had very noticeable spots of blue paint on the white rim at the top of the jar. And the lines that encircle the bottom of the jar were not straight around about half of the jar but rather really wavy, like someone's hand was shaking as the wheel spun around. I would be very embarrassed to display such an item in my home. I ordered another and as soon as I opened it I saw that it also had noticeable spots of blue paint on the white rim at the top of the jar and the lines around the bottom were also wavy and not straight. But it also had an additional problem. The bottom row of motifs sit in between the motifs in the row above them. But some of the ones on this jar didn't! They were actually positioned in the wrong places! So they were actually touching and into the motifs in the above row! UNBELIEVABLE how these made it past VPH's Quality Control to QVC and past QVC's Quality Control to me! Is there even any Quality Control checking being done by either VPH or QVC? I've learned from many other similar instances with VPH items that it would have been useless to order another one so very, very sadly I returned them both as defective and there'll be no ginger jar for me. While such things have always been an issue to some degree as long as I've bought VPH items, it certainly feels like things have gotten much worse recently. I don't know if Valerie has changed vendors, if the vendors have changed employees. But the items seem sloppily put together. I imagine Lucy in the chocolate factory with items coming down the conveyor belt too quickly to do a good job. QVC, the "Q" stands for Quality. Where is it?
