Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Ever Using Fresh Ingredients I love this cookbook. Not only does it give step-by-step clear instructions but provides fabulous illustrations. Every recipe has a photo and complete instructions. And there’s even more in-depth sections for how to accomplish tasks used in the recipe as well as in just everyday cooking. And the instructions are so easy to follow. Each step is numbered. They truly do have recipes for everything, even some of the best sandwiches ever, along with amazing homemade bread recipes, soups, dinners, family meals, desserts, and on and on. The recipes call for fresh ingredients. If you want to cook using chemically processed foods and packaged mixes, etc. this book won’t work too well. But if healthy, wonderfully tasting food is your goal, this book is ideal. I like to give this cookbook as gifts because I know how much this gift will be appreciated. Simply the best cookbook ever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Buy This cookbook is absolutely the best illustrated book I have seen. I do not buy cookbooks without pictures to show me what the finished product should look like. This not only shows you once but twice. It has preparation tips and is easy to follow. I take many cooking classes and this is like having one at home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from kitchen bible I took this book out of the library and fell in love with it. I took my time and renewed it 3 times. Then I got smart and put it on my Xmas list and got it. I love the pictures and diagrams of the many different way to use veggies and meats. It is a great book for a bride to be. It is even a great book for a 40 year cooking pro. You never stop learning new things and this is just another way to learn more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this book!! I received this as a gift at Christmas. I have used it several times. The recipes are very easy. There are some for the more advanced but the directions are very good. The garlicky Turkey Burgers are very good. Also the Apple Brown Betty. I have probably made a dozen or so things from this book and haven't not liked a one of them. The tips they give all through the book are great. The technique section is wonderful, especially for new cooks. A couple of the recipes might call for a few unusual things. Just follow the directions. Also as one cooks more you can learn to think "outside the box". Learn to substitute things. This would be a great wedding shower gift. Love it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointed I received this book back in Aug and just had a chance to look at it last night, so to much time has passed to return it. I am a cookbook collector with hundreds of them. This is one that I will probably never use. I was all the way to desserts before I ever found a recipe I even thought I wanted to try. I love cookbooks with pictures and this one has a picture for every recipe, which is a plus, but so many of the recipes just do not sound good, and many use items that I have never heard of. Other cookbooks use unique items, but then explain what they are and where to find them when shopping. This cookbook is especially not a good purchase for the novice cook. Although it may have techniques, the recipes are not for beginners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I received this book a few days ago. The receipes are good, and it is simple to follow. I agree with the last person who gave a review, the only drawback is that it is heavy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gourmet This is a beautiful book and I'm sure I will find some of the tips helpful. However, I am a more simple cook, and these recipes are a bit too "gourmet" for my taste. I will probably only actually use a few of these. Nice if that's your thing, though.
