Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this I love this cookbook being a diabetic and someone who loves to bake. I can even make some of my own recipes with their conversions. And I have always loved that they explain how everything is done and why, skip that part if you don’t want to read it. And as for the long review about looking up what defines sugar and everything has sugar not sure what it is about. No where does this say sugar free, they are just trying to show different types of sugar you can use that is better for you then regular white or brown sugar. Have learned a lot of techniques on both savory and sweet from the show and all their cookbooks. Great purchase!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I love Test Kitchen cookbooks but I have to agree with the others that they have a tendency to explain to much. However, this book is a disappointment because most of the recipes just substitute the sugar with sucrate, a sweetener that isn't readily available in our local grocery stores and is a little expensive when ordered online. I haven't read the entire book so maybe there is a conversion chart for other popular sweeteners such as stevia. I'm not returning due to the expense of returning but not sure I'll use it for anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent book!! Really appreciate the explanations in the front of the book before the recipes. The table for converting traditional sugar to sugar substitutes is very helpful. Good book for a diabetic with a sweet tooth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this book My body reacts to processed sugar, I can eat anything with sucanat, honey, or any other natural sweetner. My husband is a diabetic & he also can have these recipes. We still eat sensibly, but can have these delicious foods with no reactions. THANKS, we need more cook books written like this for healthier eating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Receipes This cook book introduced me to cooking with natural sugar. This was a great benefit to me and my husband. However, while this product touted lower sugars, the carbohydrates are still high. I can control that by the portion that is served. Otherwise, this is a great cook book for anyone interested in eliminating the processed sugars in their diets.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tiny, "added-out" print Half of the page is taken up with an explanation of how the the test kitchen derived the recipe. The rest of the page contains the recipe with detailed instructions that seem to go on and on. Too much information. The book is heavy and will not lay flat when opened. Plus the print is small and not very dark. If I kept the book, I would have to copy and enlarge the recipe before starting. The recipes do look great and I'm sure many people will enjoy them after they navigate the layout.
