"Healthy Slow Cooker Revolution" by America's Test Kitchen
Bland recipes, no flavor.
Recipes were extremely bland, ingredients and cooking equipment very hard to find. Wish I would not have spent the $ on this one.
This cook book is fantastic. The recipes are very easy to follow, and being a follower of WW, I went through the recipes and did the calculations of points per recipe and did a check mark next to the name in the index, this way I know what one's I've looked at and want to try first. Anyone who loves the crock pot should purchase this. Again it is fantastic and I highly recommend this book.
Not so healthy
I was very disappointed in this cookbook as the recipes may have been low fat and lower calories but the sodium content was waaay too high! Even if you followed the "modifications" for lower salt it's still too high for anyone on a sodium restricted diet. I am keeping it only because the shipping return costs don't even make it worth returning..I've been a QVC shopper for years but I find your return charges super annoying...
not as described at all.
Too many recipes that a family would never touch. Too many ingredients. Supper dissapointed.
Not for me
I went through this cookbook page by page the day I got it. I found that the recipes generally listed very many ingredients, and too many prep and/or cooking steps; not practical for busy cooks. They also often call for ingredients that are hard to find, and/or expensive; so not economical. I ordered 2 books, one for a gift, but I will return both.
Healthy slow cooker
This is definitely not what Jill Bauer was talking about on her show.
New Years resolution is a healthy eating and exercise life change. Great and easy to use cookbook. Fyi- for now on I check books on Amazon before purchasing from QVC. Sold on Amazon for under $15. My rating is based on the price not the book.
