Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Family Cookbook I have enjoyed making several of the recipes in the books so far. My family really likes them. They have easy to find ingredients and are quick when you need dinner on the table fast. Easy to use and follow too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Appreciate the Easy Yummy Meals I love the way the Eats is separated by month!! Yes, the meals are simple and with ingredients that can be stocked in the pantry - I love that and I have tried several! I made the chicken pot pie just the other day! Yum! Maybe not gourmet meals.....but yummy, simple and easy!! Shay talks about not wanting to be 'fancy' and spending hours in the kitchen with little ones at home and busy families.....but also making meals that the kids will want to eat and these recipes are sure to please!! If you are a busy mom on the go....you need these fun yummy recipes!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from More Mismatched than Mix & Match I was gifted this book as an early Christmas gift from my MIL. She knows that we are a busy family but eating healthy at home is still very important to us, so she went ahead and gave me this book before Christmas. It was a disappointment from the cover...the book is titled "Simmers"....a term usually used when making things liquid based....but the author is cutting bread....a food item you bake?? I thought well maybe you can bake bread in a slow cooker now. And the appliance (the slow cooker) highlighted in the book is blurred out in the background?? While previewing the recipes, I quickly realized this isn't a cookbook, but more of a "compilation book"....all of these recipes are either credited to someone else or can be found with a 10 second Pinterest, Google or other internet search, many recipes already published (for free) on the author's blog. The author claims them as her own because she "tweaked" them by adding some green onions, fresh herbs, nuts or whipped cream. Most of the recipes call for highly processed & very unhealthy ingredients. I politely told my MIL that this was not a very usable or appealing book for our family and she thanked me because she was planning on ordering for other family members, many of whom are skilled cooks who like originality and healthy/fresh ingredients. And her writing has a very sophomoric tone, uses the exclamation point in every recipe & just seems very poorly edited. Spend your money on better (actual) cookbook options, a gym membership for the unhealthy food, or faster internet to look up these recipes for free.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A Waste of Money I have tried two recipes, Chocolate Blackberry Peach Cobbler and Blueberry Banana Bread. Both were horrible. I threw away the Chocolate dessert which was like a chocolate pudding with uncooked fruit and the Bread was not cooked in the middle, even thought I tested it and cooked it longer than stated, Ate around the edges and threw the uncooked middle away. A waste of time and money. Very disappointed. Don't know whether or not I will try one more recipe before I throw these books in the trash as I would feel guilty passing it along to someone else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Need a Magnifying Glass Although using a magnifying glass since my corrective lenses don't seem to make the print large enough to read without strain, I am sure the recipes work and are well thought out but a bit busy for two. To be fair, the typeset is just too small which seems to be the way of many publications in the name of saving a tree! My preference would have been smaller pictures and at least an 11 or 12 size font similar to what you see here. Please consider future publications you sell on QVC to be reader friendly without the eye strain and use of a magnifying glass. My corrective vision is 20/30 which is sufficient to read reasonably sized typeset fonts in the 10 to 12 range. Nice big pictures though. You asked for the review and here it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Easy family Meals My kids and I are having fun with this book. The recipes are easy and we love the Tex-mex flair. Yes, a few of the recipes use box mixes or canned soup. But , sometimes you need something easy and fast when you are feeding 5 people on a busy weeknight. I recommended this to any family b/c the recipes are easy and have pleased the picky eaters in my family.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a fan Wish I hadn't bothered wasting the money! I don't care for the recipes at all. Cheaply made "meals" with yucky ingredients. I would return these "cookbooks" but want to avoid the return ship cost. These will be donated to our library for the book sale.
