ETON Hand Crank AM/FM Weather Radio w/ USB Charger and Flashlight
Hand Crank AM/FM Weather Radio Line item review.
AM- *Very poor
Weather- non-existent on both of my devices. *Awful
Charger- *I've seen better
Flashlight- *Okay to poor
Would make a stocking stuffer but not a serious gift. Sorry but it is what it is.....
bought this for my vehicle
keeping this in my vehicle. Like this for security and safety if I need it.
Bought one of these a few years ago, plus another brand. This one is still working fine, other isn't! So I ordered 2 more for Christmas presents.
Not the best
I'm really not happy with this hand-crank radio/charger/flashlight. 15 minutes of cranking does not afford any substantial supply of power. The analog tuner on the radio is not good -- could not tune in a strong local AM station.
Great idea bad product
You need to crank this 10-15mins just to be able to get 1 min of cell phone time. Product returned
This little radio has remarkably good sound for such a small speaker, better than some very expensive radios I've tried. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that it's a little difficult to tune to station; however that being said, I haven't seen a small radio that isn't difficult to tune. I like that if I ever need too, I can charge my phone - that is a BIG plus for this little gadget.. And in a storm, having weather reports is also welcome, all while being able to enjoy both my favorite AM/FM programing. I purchased one for myself and 3 more for gifts.
The premise of the machine is good - the crank the charger the radio. But all are cheaply made. Radio has poor reception, quality(a hard plastic) of the case poor, the flashlight adequate. Was very very disappointed in this item.
Kept me company on a recent night without power
I rarely write reviews but last year I had a premonition and ordered 4 of these (one for the car, one for my desk at work, one for my tote bag and one for at home). My husband laughed at me. Well, he passed away earlier this year and so I am living alone for the firs time in ages. There was a storm yesterday and the wind blew the power out for about 5 hours. I was sitting here alone in the dark until I remembered my hand crank radios. I pulled two of them out and got the radio going on one while I cranked the other, and I had both lights on. It doesn't take as much cranking as you would expect, especially if you have one on lights and one just on radio. The radio goes for a long time on one crank. I felt a lot better having some light and the cheerful sound of local radio - I knew it was just a storm and life elsewhere in the city was buzzing along. I took it with me to bed and kept it nearby all night. As far as I am concerned, the cost of all four was worth it just last night. Too bad I don't need another one - that purple is so pretty. And oh yeah, that little bit of physical effort will keep a person moving and chipper. I love this thing.
STAY TUNED IN...
WE LIVE IN FLORIDA. THIS WILL COME IN HANDY IN THE CASE OF BLACKOUTS. PURCHASED TWO: ONE FOR ME, ONE FOR OUR CHILDREN'S HOME. HAVE TESTED IT, BUT I HOPE IT WORKS WHEN NEEDED! LOL.
A very good deal
I was all set to be disappointed in this radio, for I have ordered little emergency radios before, and they were very cheap-sie and did not pull in radio signals well. This one is a little champ. I love the solar panel (and hope to never have to use the crank feature) and I love that we can charge our cell phones via this unit. The radio comes in well - the weather band is great. This would make a great little Christmas present for friends and family who could be left without power sometime.
did not work
It was a good idea and I tried and tried to make it work even called the company but it was not to be. Had to send it back. Hope they come out with a better one.
I bought 3 of these for Christmas gifts. I checked them out when they arrived and was surprised to find them already charged and ready to go. I turned on the radio and was shocked at how good the reception was.
