Smooth skin is in with this radiant, full-coverage foundation from tarte. Infused with hyaluronic acid, the unique oil-free blend of ingredients is wrapped in a luxurious, creamy gel to help moisturize and reduce the look of fine lines and pores. The cooling gel feels like a drink of water for your skin, while masking any redness, dark spots, and uneven skin tone across skin types. It's available in a range of shades to match any skin tone with a soft, rose scent and natural, radiant finish.

How do I use it: For seamless, mess-free application, apply using the custom foundation brush and spatula (not included). Scoop out a quarter size amount of foundation onto the back of your hand. Then, apply foundation in buffing, circular motions until even and full coverage is achieved.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from All their usual color not available Why No Light-Medium Neutral? Also, this foundation either moves around on my skin a lot, and is absorbed it almost completely, since our skin usually has dry or oily spots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flawless coverage! This foundation gives flawless full coverage. Can't tell you're wearing makeup. Blends beautifully into the skin plus it has a sunblock! Doesn't settle in lines. Perfect lightweight, full coverage, foundation. Goes on very smoothly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Returned Great coverage but it transfers onto your hands and clothes if you touch your face accidentally. I didn't have this problem with the clay foundation

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not my shade This is a great foundation, not for those trying to cover dark blemishes on the face. I am returning because I prefer one shade darker. Wonderful idea of the gel in a foundation. Keep working on darker shades....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight I purchased this and had to return for a lighter color. Did find the colors a bit off so I had to go lighter. That being said I tried on my skin with the brush supplied and I was so surprised at how hydrated my face felt hours after the application! My only other complaint is the jar, it is messy and hard to keep clean. Tart please try to find another dispenser. Love!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 70 yr grandma likes this foundation! Like this product. Covers nicely but you will need a concealer for dark spots. Creamy and easy to apply. Purchased the Medium Neutral shade and it works perfectly for me. Takes just a small amount to cover entire face.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice for dry older skin with great coverage I am 51 years old. In my younger years I was a sun goddess and was always at the tanning booth. Unfortunately I developed Melasma because of this on my upper and lower cheeks and have textured skin on my cheeks and along my temples. This is a nice foundation. Yes it does smell like paint, but since I know it is not paint, I don't care lol It does what I need it to do. It is very cooling on my face during application. My face looks hydrated and subtle with this foundation. The packaging....well there must be a reason why they used a jar and not a pump. Maybe it's too thick or maybe it's just cheaper to put it in the jar. At least it's very easy to get all the product out and use it up. Plus the jar is reusable and pretty :) There is a TON of product that is under the cover that is between the jar and lid. What you can do is get a spare empty clean face cream jar and just scrape the excess into that. Put the lid cover back into the original Tarte jar and just set it aside until you use up the excess in the spare jar. I came close to dropping the lid. If I did, that would have been a huge waste since I would not scrape it up and reuse it. You do need to set the foundation. If not it will move and transfer. It's just too moist to not set. This foundation covers my Melasma about 99 percent with two layers. I do not buff it into my skin since I need the most coverage, so I just dot the foundation all over my face, not alot, just enough, and then I use my flat top dense brush and pat and lightly press into my skin. It overs up very nicely that way, and fast! I let it set for about 1 min and then do it again for a 2nd layer, but using less foundation, concentrating more on the Melasma areas but still patting in the remaining areas as well so it's balanced. Even with that my Melasma still shines through a tad, but since I use Tarte Shape Tape concealer for my under eyes, I bring it down to the Melasma, which works since I like to highlight doing the upside down triangle for highlight technique. I have backups of Tarte Shape Tape and if you haven't tried it, you need to! You can go without setting under your eyes as long as you prep the skin under your eyes with a good moisturizer and let it set for about 1 min before you use the Shape Tape. I use a dry sponge to tap Shape Tape into my under eyes and into my skin and it works great. If it cakes on you under your eyes it is because you used too much. Not much is needed, it's rich and creamy and a lot goes far. My face looks hydrated and dewy with both products and since the Tarte Hybrid stays damp, you have to set it with powder. Before I set it with powder I do go over my entire face (except my under eyes) with a VERY damp sponge, (it's almost dry), and I press the foundation and my highlight into my skin. It REALLY makes a difference when I do that. It looks more polished and smooth. After I do that I then powder. If I want a more bullet proof hold I go for powders that have the Zinc Stearate ingredient. The Tarte BB Powder Foundation has that ingredient I see however I have not tried it with the Hybrid Foundation to see if it gives a heavy look...being that you are putting a foundation powder on top of a creamy foundation. That Zinc Stearate ingredient helps to resist water/sweat and keeps your makeup looking fresh without having to re apply. I have used powder without that ingredient in order to get a glowy look to my skin and although the foundation holds up well, it doesn't hold up if i cry, sweat, etc. I end up with light streaks down my face and then my Melasma peeks through. Whichever powder I use, I do use a dry sponge (and sometimes a very damp almost dry sponge) to pat and press into skin and sometimes I use a flat top dense brush to pat the powder in skin too. You don't want to use a wet sponge or brush since your foundation is already damp. Maybe with a very thin layer it will dry completely but not with full coverage. It will move the foundation if you get the foundation wet. To get that extra security that my makeup will last as long as possible I use the All Nighter setting spray. I always use a primer and since now I want to be glowy, I am using an illuminating hydrating primer. If you have oily skin you may want to prep your skin wiith a mattifying face primer. Since you are oily you can use the primer to keep your oil at bay although you are using a hydrating foundation. Hydrating primer with hydrating foundation on oily skin will cause your makeup to just break up and not last. If you are combo you can use a hydrating primer in your dry areas and use a mattifying primer in your oily areas. I know, extra steps, but better results. :) If there is anyone that still needs the extra coverage that the Hybrid Gel Foundation or Shape Tape doesn't cover, try Kevyn Aucoin Skin Enhancer. It blends very well on top of the Hybrid Foundation and Shape Tape Concealer. I use just the size of a grain of rice on both cheeks. It's so opaque that just that teeny bit overs about a size of quarter on both cheeks! I just pat it in on top of the foundation and Shape Tape with a sponge and it melts right on in. Just trying to help those out there that STILL need that extra punch of coverage. And because you literally use a teeny teeny amount, it does NOT look cakey. The tiny pot that it comes in will last me about a year!!
