Duraflame Powerheat Portable Infrared Heater
Awful Customer Service
Great little heaters as long as nothing goes wrong. I bought two of them about a year & a half ago. One of them is not reading room temp correctly. Tristar customer service is awful, they give you a responce time up to 48 hours!
Good Heater while it lasted :(
This was a great heater while it lasted. I live in a single wide mobile home with baseboard heaters so it can get cold in the house. The heater saves money but how much is questionable but was better than our traditional heat. Our living room/kitchen/dining area is one open area so it is large and the heater did very well heating this space. Love the remote, the look, and my kid can stack his Xbox system & games on it just like any piece of furniture. I felt very safe with the heater running even while we slept. But then the cons...The first problem I had is it would not always turn on after the first 6 months of use. Then the next problem was the thermostat started to fail so the temp was never accurate nor did it function properly after that. I tried to get ahold of Tri Star and played phone tag for months. So the thing just collects dust. I would love to get it fixed but not sure if it's worth it. I loved this heater but the with the problems it makes it very undependable.
We used this all winter and I really liked it. It kept our family room warm - it is a big room - and helped cut our usage on the larger house furnace. We kept that thermostat a lot lower than normal this year.
problem need help?
This heater was great the first month or two. However now if I want to use it I have to unplug it and plug it back in and it will run but only for a limited time and then as the temperature drops it shows the correct temp dropping but never kicks back on. Anyone else have this problem?
Bought this for my office, which has an exposed concrete wall to the outside. The room is about 1,000 sq ft and it does keep it warmer than with my regular heat. Very satisfied!
no way not at this price
I received my heater and set it up. I've been sick and I like it a bit warm in my room. This thing would not go above 72
Now who reads instructions but I read them so no one can say I missed something,
set hi, med, low
turn off any sleep mode.
Really how hard is this. I thought the Duraflame name I would have expected better.
Maybe it was just a bad heater but I'm not into packing up big items for return.
Great, quiet,neat,and worth the price.
If you need extra warmth to a room this is your product.
Warming but not spectacular
I'd like to say this is a great heater that warms my home quickly and comfortably, but that is not the case. My $40 oil filled heater warms up the house just as well. I will watch the electricity useage over the next couple of weeks and if I don't feel I'm saving on my heating bill, this heater will go back. Why spend $200 plus when $40 works just as well.
I read mixed reviews before I purchased this item. Love it and couldn't be happier. Thinking of purchasing a second one for our daughter.
Not Any Good
We bought this because we thought it look like furniture, and we heard the Duraflame was a good heater, however after using it just a few times, it quit working...We also bought us an Eden Pure...it is still working and we have had no trouble with it at all...We would never buy a Duraflmae again!!! Don't waste your money!
Love this heater.... came back and bought a second one for our beach home!
Disappointed - Stopped working
Stopped working after only using it for 3 months - Jan. Feb. Mar. 2012 for about 3 to 4 hours a day 3 times a week, it did not get very cold last winter here in Alabama. Very expensive item for such a short period of use. Not very happy. Called to report theproblem to Tri Star. Not getting very far with them. I have to fill everything out on line. Took forever, and they still give me the run around.
