Sturdy and Quiet
I got this early last year so this is it's second year on my deck. I have it "planted" in a large flower tub with flowers planted in the base. It stays put and looks great on my deck, plus the tub gives it extra height. I have never had any problems with it. I put it under a canvas tarp on my patio table for the winter, and put it back in the tub a month ago. It still works great, and is still silent. I have not oiled it or done anything special to it. I am in NJ and my deck is in a breezy location. I did take it down previous to Hurricane Sandy, along with anything else moveable, but otherwise it is fine in a stiff breeze. Have had many compliments on it.

Try Gorilla Glue
Despite the negative reviews, I am ordering this today. I will be taking the advice of one and tighten nuts with a wrench and will be adding a drop of Gorilla Glue. Everyone loved the concept. If a tornado is coming I will be removing it from the garden which looks easy to do. Can't see any reason, with modifications, that I won't love it and that is why I gave it five stars even though I haven't see it yet. Hope this will help others who are having trouble with it coming apart.

Hypnotic!
I wanted one of these type of spinners for a long time. This was a great price, so I got it. It's big, and commands attention. I didn't screw the top finish bolt on hard enough and in one of our super windy days it came off. I never have found it, but it doesn't matter. It really stands up to the wind other than that, just tighten the bolts! My mom was visiting and on the patio watching it spin. She said she almost got hypnotized, so beware :)

Plow & Hearth garden wind spinner
The wind spinner is very attractive, however the workmanship is very poor. I have had it
in my garden for one week and the one spinner broke loose and now rests on the
second spinner. It is very unstable in the soil, the prongs should be longer to anchor it
deeper into the ground. I am disappointed in Plow and Hearth for selling this product and QVC for recommending it. Apparently it was never tested by either company.

So Sad...
After several atempts to get the spinners to stay on the pole, I'm left with just enough pieces to attach one spinner to the pole and I don't even know if that's gong to stay. And, I do know what a lock nut is.The other nut and "circle" plate I can no longer find. Even the tops to the outer nuts broke off. So sad. Some people have glued, soddered and even used wrenches for it not to come apart. I feel for this price with shipping and handling, NO ONE should have to do a thing to get it to stay together and work like its advertised to do. It's so pretty, but not this pretty to throw my money away on.

BEAUTIFUL
I love this spinner,people are complaining the nuts keep coming off, you must tighten them with a wrench and there is no problem.DO NOT JUST HAND TIGHTEN THEM. Yes, use some common sense if a strong storm is coming just take the spinner off easy to do. PLEASE ENJOY.

Disappointed
Although I loved my spinner, I had only had it in my flower garden for a few days when one of the petals blew off and blew away. I will try to find someone in my area who can solder it back on for me, because with one petal missing, one side doesn't spin. I'm very disappointed.

Broken in a Week
We were finally able to open the box to assemble the spinner about a week ago. It was beautiful in our back yard. The next day, we went out of town for a few days. When we returned, one of the "petals" was on the ground and the spinners were tangled. We only saw it in motion a few minutes when it was first assembled. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Can't return it because it was purchased over 30 days ago, even though we just took it out of the box.

When putting together use the lock nut provided on the shaft and it never comes apart. I love watching it .

Simply Luv This
This is one great spinner! It moves easily with the slightest breeze. Maybe some are over tightening or whatever?? Recently I had a rummage sale & we got more compliments on this than I can say. This and the Dragon as well. I call him Drago! Luv it!! Would make a great gift for anyone.

Not worth the hassle
This is a beautiful piece. However, it does not stand up to our windy days on the plains. It has come apart several times and we have had to search for the parts to put it back together.I finally had enough and called Customer service. They were very pleasant, but my only recourse is to send it back for refund. Some of the parts are now missing because the item has fell apart so much. Also, where am I going to find a box to put the odd shaped item into for shipment! I guess I may have to eat the cost of this one!
