Patience Is A Virtue!
I bought this plant 3 years ago and I would agree, nothing happened...until now! Has the biggest most beautiful (dinner plate size) flowers. Worth the wait!

Very pleased
I received nice large plants, good roots! Plants need to mature not just grow to bloom. I am adding these to a pot with another of a diff color not from the q or Roberta's. I have received several plants from Roberta's this year and in the past, always been very good co to deal with.

Amazing plant.
I have read the reviews and I thought I would give my opinion. I have this plant. Mine was not purchased from Roberta's. Our plant was given to us in 2003 as a gift. It is the most amazing plant I have ever had. The first couple of years I thought it would never do anything. The plant is a little leggy, but that is how this plant grows. When mine had the first flower, it was the most beautiful flower I had ever seen. EXOTIC to say the least. Since the first bloom, I have had 30-40 flowers on my plant each year. I realize that my plant was bigger & more mature than what you might get from Roberta's, but please do not count this flower out. Do not get discouraged as you will be rewarded with magnificent flowers as your plant matures.
I wish there was a way I could post a picture of my plant on this website so you could see what a beautiful plant this can be. My plant has long leaves and never has been real full, but that's ok because I am rewarded with beautiful flowers. As your plant matures, you can make new plants by just sticking a piece in the dirt. I now have several pots of this flower I made from cuttings as I mentioned above. I live in Louisiana where we have mild winters, but I do not chance leaving it outside in the winter. I put it in our workshop to keep the frost off of it. My plant likes sun, but I try to keep my plant out of the scorching sun.
Patience is the key with plant. I have always had compliments on this plant, especially when it flowers. I am anxiously awaiting for my plants to flower. They have blooms and they will open up soon.

No blooms. I ordered 4-25-2009. Maybe I should be reimbursed but it is too late. I looked in my order status to see when I ordered these. Very disappointed.

Borrrring!
Hey, if you're young and have a lot of time on your hands, here's the plant for you. Nursed this for two seasons and got BORED. Lots of leggy spikes hanging and sprawling all over the place, but no blooms. Wintered over in my office, and colleagues would ask what the heck is that ugly, gnarly plant?! Dumped it in the compost pile.

ALWAYS ARRIVE DEAD OR THEY DIE VERY QUICKLY
EVERY TIME I ORDER ROBERTAS PRODUCTS AND I DO KEEP GIVING THEM CHANCES OVER AND OVER AGAIN BECAUSE THEIR ITEMS LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL AND I LIVE IN S FLORIDA SO THINGS GROW VERY WELL DOWN HERE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS, BUT I HAVE A GREEN THUMB AND ANYTHING THAT I PLANT OR GROW TAKES OFF VERY WELL EXCEPT THEIR ITEMS. SORRY ROBERTAS ...... NO MORE !!!
I CONTACTED ROBERTAS AND THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY ALSO.

Premium price for un-named varieties
Wow, these are wildly over-priced! I love these plants and grow many varieties. For this price you should at least get the name of the variety you are growing....
I don't know what Roberta's says but I do know that these plants like to be root-bound in a fast draining mix (not potting soil) in_order_to_bloom. Every time you pot them up a size, you delay their blooming as they will want to grow the roots in before setting bud.
DON'T USE ORCHID BARK whatever you do! As the fir bark breaks down it kills the epiphyllum plants.
Also, if you fertilize them similarly to cymbidiums, you'll have better luck.

Still Patiently Waiting
My plants arrived with one plant per pot also. I cut them in half and potted them also. One color survived the other didn't. It will be a surprise once they decide to bloom. This will be year three no blooms, but do see many baby shoots starting to grow all over the original stems. I thought I put them in a small enough pot, but maybe not. They definitely need to be very root bound to flower with the correct soil. If you are a patient, nurturing gardener don't give up on them and they will mature into beautiful plants. They are just NOT the instant gratification type of plant. That's why I would never give as a gift.

Not worth the time or money
Purchased these two years ago. Even purchased the fertilizer and bloom booster. One plant died the first winter and the second one died in the spring. Followed the growing instructions. It is not an annual but they still only guarantee it for 90 days.
