Roberta's 8-piece Jumbo Begonia Collection w/Fertilizer
I was so excited to get these bulbs. They are not what was presented on TV. They are the size of a quarter at best, one or 2 are the size of a nickel. I am so very disappointed. I told myself after last year's disappointments I wouldn't order flowers again but I fell for the wonderful presentation.
Received these yesterday and can 't believe I paid $34.50 for these bulbs. I have only one that's any bigger than a quarter. I went back to look at the video to see the size of the bulbs in the presentation and mine don't look like those in any way. Those are big plump solid looking bulbs. The ones I received are tiny, shriveled and feel hollow. I'm usually pretty pleased with products from Roberta' s, but these are just sad. I noticed the price had dropped too, but mine were shipped at the higher price. Seeing that other reviewers have had poor success with these I won't go through the trouble of getting replacements. I'm done.
I was so excited to see these come back. I bought these 5-6 years ago & they were amazing in color and size. I dug them up in winter & stored them properly, but selling our home & packing they were forgotten. I just planted these & can't wait to see them grow.
I would highly recommend them.

bulbs are very small about the size of a quarter. nothing like they showed on tv
These flowers grew right away. At first they flowered (in the shade), and we thought, well, they are nice, but hardly what I would say is a jumbo begonia....WOW! were we wrong, they grew enormous, and such vibrant colors! They were a joy to look at--they also kept blooming right into the Fall. These grew where NOTHING else would! Would highly recommend.
7 out of 8 bulbs were beautiful and big! I live in Maryland so I brought them inside during the winter. I hope they bloom this year. I will let you know. I will be putting in bigger pots this year. Last year I had one in a 6-8 inch pot. They were overflowing. I had them on my deck on the southern side. But I have big trees so they don't get much sun Maybe 2 hours around 11-1:00. Maybe the others that had problems planted them upside down. These are beautiful plant especially if your yard is shady
DID NOT BLOOM
I purchased these last spring with high hopes. 5 of the 8 plants sprouted. Roberta's was very good about replacing the bad bulbs. I had foliage but only 2 of the bulbs actually had blooms.....and only 3-4 flowers total. They finally bloomed toward the end of the summer. The few blooms were only between the size of a quarter and half dollar. Definitely not what I expected based on the presentation. As a result, I had no flowers only foliage all summer long.
I will continue to purchase from my local nurseries. I wasn't pleased at all. I followed planting instructions and they all died.
Waste of Time and Money
Last spring, I had such high expectations of these plants. I prepared a garden space, soaked the bulbs overnight in the 'Magic' solution as suggested, and planted the bulbs as directed. Then I waited, ..and waited, ...and waited. Nothing!! After 8 weeks I called customer service and got a full refund, but nothing made amends for the disappointment and effort I put into these bulbs. Never again!
I purchased these last spring and planted them in my side garden. It took awhile for them to grow and bloom, but then what a surprise. They were huge and bloomed for the whole summer. The garden gets morning sun and afternoon shade. LOVE THEM.
Best flower purchase
I bought these last year and once they bloomed they were the most beautiful patio pots I've ever had. Gorgeous large flowers. I left my pots initially on shady side of house until they grew to the point where they started to bloom. Maybe that's why mine turned out so great.
BAD BULBS DIDN'T GROW
I have grown Begonia plants in my hanging baskets & porch rail planters for 20 years. I buy some new ones from the local stores every year that are already in pots & blooming, & I grow my own year after year after they've been wintered over in my garage. I think I have some experience in this department. I ordered this set of bulbs a year ago & received them in May, which is very late for getting them started in pots inside. I am in zone 5 in southwestern PA so they can't go outside until the end of May. They should be started in their pots in March & be very well established by the end of May & getting ready to bloom in June. These bulbs were so tiny, not like the ones in the video. A couple were actually rotten, & a couple were flat with no body to them to grow. Only one grew. I called QVC & received a refund for the whole order. I was so disappointed because I really wanted those beautiful flowers that are shown in the video.
