I paid how much for a stick???
I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for but in this case I would have to say thats not true. I opened the box yesterday when I got it and what I pulled out was a horribly crooked stick with a bag at the end. Sooooo not like the tree he pulled out in the video and said this is what you will get when shipped. I understand that I am not going to get the tree they are showing in the video thats in full bloom and already 6 ft. tall but come on. When I pulled it out of the box the first thing that I said was "I paid 50 bucks for a stick??". There are no limbs, offshoots or buds on it at all. I purchased this as a gift for my daughter who just purchased her first home and left it up to her if we return it or give it a shot. She has been so excited about this tree that she is going to give it a go. We will try and stake it when we plant it and see how it goes. I also purchased for her the stonecrop collection, hens and chicks collection and the eden rose trio. I really hope they are worth it cause at this point I feel pretty let down by QVC and their quality control.

I love it!
I planted it two weeks ago and it's already filling out nicely. It's going to be perfect in the strip between the sidewalk & street. I plan to get another one next year.

Listen up
I bought this last year and planted this in a beautiful big roomy pot for the roots to grown. It started to bloom beautiful colors and I was so thrilled since I never bought a tree from Cottage Farms. A month later it died! I don't have any idea why because it was doing just wonderful! I bought another one this year and I plan to plant this one in the ground with flowers around it. I gave it 2 stars because if you watch the video they say you can't kill this tree. Something happened to mine last year and I don't know why! I do recommend this tree as it is beautiful when it starts to bloom. I love this tree that I am willing to spend the money and try one more time. Don't let what happened to me with this tree stop you from buying one. It is so different and beautiful when it blooms.

Need to prune to get color
I called Cottage Farms because my 2 trees did not turn color this year. I was told I need to prune (prefferably during dormancy) to get color when they bloom. Why didn' t they mention this in the presentation? Such a simple solution. It was mentioned you can prune if you want to.......nothing about you need to prune tree to get color.

Not as Advertised
Received tree in good condition. Allowed to soak before container planting. Tree has not sent out any pink leaves or anything else in 3 years I've had it. Called in the first year, Cottage Farms asked me to keep it one more year to see if it would work, if not to call back. Called back next year, they refused a return, replacement or credit. Tree is about 5 ft tall, good health, but nothing but willow tree leaves. QVC took care of me, but very cautious with Cottage Farms now.

New and Improved?
I ordered one last year, it was grafted and died, I received a replacement and it died also, I just ordered a new tree and I noticed the same leaf all down the trunk and did not see a graft. The tree is doing great I further researched this tree and its called the flamingo or dappled willow. It is easily propagated from limbs, and likes a wet acid soil area with dappled sun. With proper fertilizer it should display the various leaf colors. The tree grows from four feet to fifteen feet, depending if in a container or in ground, the root system is no where near as invasive as the the common willow, not near as massive. In hot areas, morning sun will do only.

beautiful
I ordered this tree a few years back. It was just beautiful for 2 years, the 3rd year it died. We live in Va Bch and it should have done well, but mine did not. To bad, I am afraid to order a new one because of that.. But it was pretty.
I have other plants from cottage Farm and all is doing well. I would not recommend this tree as a gift because I would feel bad if it died. As for Beauty, you can't go wrong.

Pink, green & Beautiful
I have had this tree for a few years now and it is just beautiful! The pink/green leaves just make it jump out at you and admire. Doesn't get that big so it is a perfect tree for small areas. Thank you Cottage Farms!

MY 3 YEAR UPDATE
I always love to see this Cottage Farms item each year - the tree shown on the television demonstration is so unexpected and lovely. Perfect for the area I wanted it for. Sadly I did not have good fortune with the one I bought 3years ago. Mine was planted in a large container and kept in a sunny area of my patio. The tree arrived in good shape and planted immediately after arriving. Activity took off! Then, by late summer, green (or speckled) green leaves began dropping off. Since it was a willow, I increased the water which seemed to stem the leaf droppings! Attractive Fall foliage. Next spring it put out a few new leaves - not many tho - and no pink flowers. It seemed to set into the same pattern as the previous year. Only until last spring did I see any measurable growth in the tree itself at all - certainly nothing like what others had experienced. Again, no pink flowers - just small speckled leaves - no limb growth so they just stuck out rather than "willowed". Unfortunately, with the severe drought my area experienced last summer, I had to keep water constantly - I brought water morning and night. It has died completely. I left planted over the winter in the hopes it would turn itself around, but my landscapers have just removed the dead tree from the container - it was completely gone. I would not re-purchase this item based on my experience - $40+ is a little more than I'm comfortable paying for a bad experience and disappointment that the willow never lived up to its description.
