L5623 - AccuBrush 8-piece Paint Edger Kit w/Refill Pack
Best Paint Edger Ever!
We bought one of these a few years ago and have LOVED how it saves so much time and gives such a clean line! One of the best painting products that QVC has ever carried.
It really works.
This is the first edger that I have found that actually works. I have had this edger for years and have painted many rooms using it. I LOVE IT! Much faster than using a brush to edge. It does take a little time to get into the swing of things but once you do do....it works great.
Ended up edging by hand
I should have saved my money on this and just cut in by hand like I usually do. It was faster and neater than using this. Even though I followed directions closely and was careful not to saturate the roller, paint still smeared where I didn't want paint to be. I'm back to painter's tape and a brush!
clean the gaurd
I am a pro painter and if you use this product dont saturate the roller put a small amount of paint in the pan
when rolling start by appling a lite preesure as to not get paint past the paint guide or gaurd until you get used to the right amount of pressure, also carry a clean rag with you and wipe paint off that gets on the guide
at best if your rdoing 2 coats edge the walls with the acu brush on the 1st coat and with a brush on the second coat to fine tune your lines,if you take a 5 in 1 tool you can etch a small line in the corner where the walls and ceilings meet as your brushing ease your brush in to corner and the bristles will fall into this etched line giving you the best stright line you can get, start slow and your speed will increase after a few walls you can aslo etch a line along trim thats not going to be painted, now remeber not to make you etch to deep just enough for a good qulity brush bristles to fall in to
i purchased this product and the paint got on the edge when it was not suppose to. I want to return it and get my money back, i would not recommend it.
not a help
What a mess. Bought it, used it for 1 wall and sent it back. Like others said, it got paint where it was not supposed to go. I do better doing it by hand.
I don't return a lot of things I purchase on the Q. But this one is going back. The design is such that when you roll the roller in the pan you wind up with paint where it shouldn't be. The first "stroke" it worked well. The second "stroke" was a mess. Maybe it's just me but this is way more trouble than using a steady hand with a small brush or falling back on the blue painters tape. Sorry but no way is this worth the money.
not for popcorn ceilings
Having just used this product for the last hour, my opinion is fresh. It is amazing at going around molding and doing the baseboards. However, there was no warning in the paper or video instructions to not use with popcorn ceilings. I should have assumed that by design but I had to throw out a good amount of paint that was tainted with ceiling dust and stop mid-project to basically start over with paint. That was not fun.
So, for doors and windows and other molding, perfect! It’s true one-coat coverage too. Keep away from popcorn ceilings.
Waste of money
I did not buy this, but my Mom did at my urging. She was in the process of remodeling some rooms in her home. Unfortunately she waited too long to use it and could not send it back. When we tried to edge with this, the paint smeared and the edger left big white streaks on the wall. You had to go back with a roller anyway, to smooth out the big streaks. We had better luck with a Rubbermaid edger ($3.00) at our local department store.
awesome saved time
We used this roller on the lining room and dining room. It did take a little getting used to (like any new tool) but the lines were clean and saved us so much time. My husband works at the hospital and does a lot of painting so he took it to work and it saved him not only time but the edging was so clean and fine with no running paint. Very professional looking. He also felt the roller lasted longer than anything he has bought out of a hardware store. Give it a try. I lend it to friends all the time and the same roller is being used.
Does not create a clean line. I ended up throwing mine away. Doesn't work as well as the TV demo.
I returned the one I purchased.
I purchase this item thinking great I won't have to cut in with a brush anymore, but they fail to tell you is you will have to at the corners, and at the top and bottom of your walls. I think this product might work better on non-textured walls, because I tried it on textured walls and I got lines and splotches on my ceiling, etc. I found it easier to just cut in with a brush then deal with the lines, splotches and have cut in where the machine wouldn't go.
