Crispy crust pie pan.
I have this pie pan. I too rushed out to buy apples. Pie was great, BUT....the mesh turned black in blotches, like it was mildew or something. I scrubbed it clean, I made another pied another day and it happened to me again. My sister also had the same problem. I wonder if anyone else has this same problem. I have a convection oven, don't think that would make a difference. Anyone like to comment???

Love this useful pan
Have found this pan to really live up to it's description. It does an excellent job of providing all around crisping no matter what you are making. It also does the job when I use it under the broiler. I am using this pan alot more than I ever imagined I would. This was a purchase that far exceeded my expectations.

Like the idea, but needs some changes
I really like the idea of this concept, however, as another reviewer indicated, it needs to be a bit deeper. Also needs to be less expensive. I assume if made deeper it would also be more expensive, which would keep me from purchasing. With tax and shipping and handling, likely well over $30 for a pie pan....not a good value to me no matter how crispy the crust. For someone who makes a lot of pies, it might be worth it.

A Reminder of Good Times Past.......
My grandmother had a pie plate very similar to this one. She always used it when she made fruit pies. Her pie plate always kept the bottom crust dry. I have been hoping QVC would offer one of these. I sent mine back ONLY because it was not deep enough for my taste. Other than that, I would certainly recommend this pie plate. I keep hoping that I will come across one in an estate sale. Hope QVC will bring it back in a deeper size.

Great Pie Pan
I received this pan on Tuesday. I wanted to make sure I was going to like it so I went out and bought apples and baked a apple pie. This pie pan is really great. The bottom crust was cooked and was not soggy. It also baked the pie in a shorter amount of time.
The clean up was great. I would recommend this to anyone. I give it a 5 star.
