Vitamix 32oz. Dry Blade Blending Container with Recipe Book
The best purchase I've made all year!
I've been following the Eat to Live program and tried making oat flour from oatmeal for a 3 ingredient cookie recipe but I couldn't do it until I got this baby. It turned the oatmeal into flour in about 30 seconds! And on QVC it was HALF the price of what Vitamix charges!
I'm thrilled with this purchase and can't wait to make some chick pea flour next!
Thank you for helping me to live a healthier lifestyle at a great cost!
My vitamix dry mix container is really good, I like grinding my own flours, making bread and lots of other stuff great compliment to the wet container. Helen
ON AIR DEMO
If you watch Jan Muller demo the dry blade container, which he usually does when the package includes this particular container, you will notice that he uses it for many different jobs. And, he NEVER uses a tamper. This is why a tamper is not included with this dry container. It was not designed to be used with a tamper. I use my dry container for chopping various veggies, buts, making bread dough, etc...and I NEVER need a tamper.
Why would you sell this without the required tamper that goes with it? They all require different sizes, my wet mixer has a longer one that will not work with the dry mixer. I have no objection to paying more to have everything I need to make it work....ridiculous! BUYER BEWARE!!!! Unless the tamper comes with it, order it with it so you can use it when you get your blender container! My rating is such because it isn't a complete product without all the parts.
As for the negative reviews for not having tamper. If you have a vitamix (if not why would your order this) then you already have a tamper. The one for the 64 oz works with this as well because the lid hole is different sized (smaller) and does not allow the tamper to go down to the blade. So the tamper is designed to work with both sizes. This has been so for at least the last ten years.
I sent it back.
in principle, this sounded like a great addition to the Vitamix Blender. When I received it, I really couldn't figure out what the point was. I sent it back.
not for flour grinding-my opinion
this is an awesome item if you plan on grinding things not into powder. it is fantastic for nuts and beans, however for flour I would not recommend it. I like my flour fine and silky not grainy or gritty. this will grind your flour into a powder, but will leave grit like pieces behind.
If you sift your flour and leave out the grit like pieces then your bread does not come out the right way, it will not rise because you have removed some of the important gluten particles.
I believe it does not come with a tamper because it does not pull the items into the blade, it moves them the opposite way then the blender.
where's the tamper?
Wonder why it does not come with a tamper? Booklet says you need to use one to use this unit.. I did not realize it was MISSING a tamper...How much do they cost? And why are they not available on QVC? Looks like I will have to go to the Vitamix web site to get one.. Very inconvenient. Like buying a car and then having to go by the driver's seat as an extra accessory. LOL.
