Walah! 11" Nonstick Double Layer Frypan
This pan is great ! The fat reducing feature is a winner! It makes a grilled cheese ( e.g.) perfect with virtually no evidence of margarine / butter on the sandwich
.HOWEVER, with regard to Walsh's ! claim that clean-up is easy requiring no soaking or scrubbing. This is absolutely not the case! It most certainly DOES REQUIRE SOAKING AND SCRUBBING, and this includes cooking with some form of medium such as butter .The instructions outline exactly how to clean the pan for optimum maintenance for long-term use and include ": before first use" directions .
Unfortunately, the very reason to purchase this pan is exactly the opposite of the companies choice to advertise as ,such. ; a non-stick pan. . The very selling point, in fact, is not the case whatsoever.
This is cause for concern . The company must know how blatant and false their claim is for Walsh! Non-Nonstick pan . Therefore ,one can only surmise; that they operate with ease in their false advertising department .
I believe the term "bait and switch " sums it up accurately . Shame shame ...( .I like the pan and will continue to `soak n scrub` when using it because the benefit out weighs the negative .
So, spray it
I've read the reviews about the clean-up. The directions tell you to spray it before the first use (I spray for every use). Bacon is divine w/this. Burgers, too; just dont lock the press. For the price, this is a good little skillet. It cleans up the way all those grooved grills do. Oh, I don't recommend high heat. You don't need it anyway w/the press.
WOREST PURCHASE EVER
WOREST PAN EVER
YOU HAVE TO SCRUB & SOAK IN HOT WATER TO CLEAN THE GROOVES.
FOOD ALSO STICKS. THIS IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY TO PURCHASE.
clean up is next to impossible
The idea is great the cleanup is the worst. I am surprised that QVC's quality control didn't catch this one! UP until now I have taken their word for how products perform. No more I will read all the reviews before I order. If someone can discover a way to clean all the grooves it would be wonderful. Also didn't like that you couldn't use metal utensils, that made cleanup harder as well. I would never recommend this product.
walah fry pan
THIS IS THE FIRST MISTAKKE i REC. FROM qvc. YOU MUST SCRUBE IT TO CLEAN THE GROOVES ARE A BIG MISTAKKE..
I Love it
For days you don't want to light up the BBQ (especially if you're "single again")
This is great for a quick burger or steak.
Like the way it eliminates excess fat.
The perfect grilled cheese pan.
I agree with others who wrote in about cleaning issues so I have decided that this is my go to pan when making grilled cheese or panini sandwiches. It cooks them perfectly, leaves great lines, and has the weight on top to press the sandwich nicely (and you can add something to the top if you want more weight).
I won't use this pan for browning ground beef or for other dishes that have small particles but I do enjoy this for making perfect grilled cheese!
great for frying bacon
I bought this for frying bacon and other thin sliced meats. Love it. In the summer I make BLT's till the fresh tomatoes are gone. This pan works great for bacon, There is enough room to catch all the fat from the bacon. Clean up is easy.
Don't Waste Your Money!
I agree with others, a great idea, but really hard to clean! What happened to the QVC quality control? The food sticks in the grooves - I wish I had sent it right back, but too late now!
So hard to clean
Great design but so hard to clean. Back to the drawing board with this one.
Good Idea but Too hard to Clean
Thought it was a great idea. Way to hard to clean, currently relegated to yard sale material.
GOOD BUT/not so good
It was hard to clean just what I don't need. The concept is great great great! It should have a pour spout and a cleaning brush. All in all I do like the pan. I would recommend to everyone who cooks but not now.
