Vitamix Creations Elite 48oz. 12-in-1 Variable Speed Blender
Vitamix Creations Elite 48oz
The hype is true. Soup..check. Pulverization...check. Juicing...check. Flour...check. Smoothies, purees, ice cream, cream, etc it blends whatever I put in it, of course I have not tried anything to hard like in the infamous iphone test on youtube but carrots, beets, raw veggies, nuts and the like I have. Ice of course...it does not make it powder like the ninja but it crushes it and really that works for me. I couldn't pay the full amount due to my finance limitations but using a payment plan worked for me and helped me make my decision. I do not regret it thus far.
Best Kitchen Tool
Greater than 30 years ago I used an Osterizer to make baby food as my Osterizer had small jars which fit on the blender. But the food was not always consistently smooth.
I wish I had a Vitamix when my daughter was a baby.
I use my Vitamix to make soup weekly, smoothies daily, apple sauce from fresh apples, make homemade peanut butter, frozen yogurt, bread crumbs, etc. I love my Vitamix and enjoy watching for new recipes on TV or in the Vitamix web site.
I gave a Vitamix to my daughter who is grown up and she also loves using it.
Vitamix is the best American made tool I have ever had.
I really love my Vitamix.
Worth Every Cent
LOVE THIS BLENDER! After trying several other blenders and not really wanting to spend the money for a Vitamix, I am so glad I did. I wanted a blender that could make the perfect frappuccino and I couldn't be happier. It was actually much better than my favorites at Starbucks. Great health smoothies - not a lump. I used to have to make a honey syrup because thick honey did not blend well in my other blenders - blends perfectly in the Vitamix. I also love how easy it is to clean - I am saving up now to purchase one for my daughter who also loves the frapps and the smoothies.
I looked and didn't commit for years - what was I thinking?
I've had this machine 6 months, in that time I have made: ice cream, sorbet, milkshakes, smoothies, juices, guacamole, salsa, soup, muffin dough, margaritas, pesto
It is an amazing product and easy to clean too.
I've made more meals in the last six months than I have in the last 6 years, my other will testify to that claim. The only appliance that gets more action is my coffee maker!
After I fell in love
Yes, I fell in love with this. I resisted spending this money for years but due to health problems, I gave in. I loved it for a few months. Before I even paid the last payment on it, it quit. Oh, yes, it half works if I only use low speed, at least for now. That is way too much money to pay for something that lasts only a few months. I will never buy or recommend another.
Pricey Yes- Lives up to it's Claims
Yes I can make hot soup in 6 minutes! Nice machine, I haven't had a chance to test it's juicing, which is really what I bought It to do replace my juicer. But it has lived up to all of its promises so far is easy to use and does fit under my cabinet.
There are just a few days left for the easy pay certainly worthwhile.
love the vitamix
My mom's gift to us this past Christmas, and we are loving it. No kidding, we use it every day, and often 2 or 3 times per day. One of the best uses we've found is making a salsa; it's so fast and efficient, and particularly for large quantities. Prepping 2lbs of roma tomatoes, plus all the other ingredients, can take a good 30 minutes. In the Vitamix, it was literally 3-5 minutes, including washing the veggies! The cookbook that comes with is very helpful, and I initially followed the instructions for the salsa so that I could get a feel for how the Vitamix works.
One aspect that really amazed me was how you can go from onion-garlicky salsa, to a sweet fruit smoothie and there is no lingering onion or garlic flavor. The cleaning instructions are easy and the results are awesome!
My sister, who also received this Vitamix for Christmas, has made soup in it. She said it was amazing to pour hot soup right out of the Vitamix.
I'm looking forward to many years of great service from this Vitamix; I hope it can hold up to the amount of use we intend to put it through!
Best Blender I've Owned
I only use it for smoothies but love that it breaks down almost anything. I say almost because dense fruits and veggies have to be cut up or they'll get stuck and/or require so much time that the drink gets a little warm. Easy to clean! I only wish it came with a personal sized container since I make smoothies for only myself.
Doesn't work right, and return/repair process bad
Machine has to be turned off and on several times before speed can be adjusted. Called Vitamix, who told me they would send me a box and shipping label to return for repair. Shipping label came. No box. Called again and they said that the policy changed, that they no longer send a box, that the first person I spoke to was wrong, and I had to supply my own box, and by the way I better pack it well! Surprised that the customer service at Vitamix is not very knowledgeable, and very surprised that at this cost, they don't send the box to return. They promote this wonderful warranty, but really not as good as many other companies. Other companies not only send the box, but provide a loaner! But not VItamix. I hope at least it works right after repair. Will never buy another Vitamix.
Fits under my cabinets, easy to clean, easy to use and powerful. So far I've made several batches of ice cream and sorbet, also a couple batches of soup (including trying a blended version of my own potato soup recipe). My cookie recipe called for very fine granulated sugar, and sure enough, the Vitamix worked like a charm using regular sugar. Bought a nut milk bag at a kitchen gadget store and will try my hand at making almond milk (a staple at my house used in coffee). Healthy organic veggie and fruit smoothies are next.
I think I noticed a slight amount of oil near the base where the motor mechanism connects to the blade after running it on high speed to make soup. Haven't noticed it since. Returns are good through the end of January 2014, so I'll try making soup again and see if there's any issue. I'm not too worried though as I've read great reviews regarding Vitamix warranty and their customer service.
I love it!
I use my Vitamix a lot and the clean up is simple. I make smoothies, soups, sauces, chopping etc.
I've wanted a Vitamix for years. My friend has one that does frozen drinks or soup from scratch. This one, you have to cook the veggies prior to making soup. I have my hand blender that can do that. Finally, the container didn't seat well on the motor. I had to stand by in case it fell over. The quality isn't what it used to be.
