CooksEssentials Nonstick Pie & Cake Maker with 2 PastryCutters
AFTER READING THE REVIEWS I WAS ON THE FENCE BUT ORDERED ANYWAY. IT IS A WONDERFUL BAKING TOOL FOR ANYONE, SINGLE OR FAMILY. SOMEONE STATED THERE WAS NO RECEIPE BOOK INCLUDED, USE YOUR IMAGINATION. I AM A FAMILY OF ONE. WENT TO KROGER, BAKING SECTION LOOKING FOR THE APPLE PIE IN A CAN. FOUND IT AND ALSO FOUND SEVERAL OTHER MIXES. HOW ABOUT TART CHERRY WITH PEACH PIE FILLING? OR RHUBARB STRAWBERRY PIE FILLING? THERE WERE SEVERAL MORE TO PICK FROM. I USED 2 GENEROUS TABLESPOONS IN EACH CUP, NO PROBLEM. USED THE PILLSBURY PIE CRUST AND EACH LAYER GIVES YOU 3 CUPS TOP AND BOTTOM. THESE CUPS ARE ENOUGH TO SATISFY YOUR CRAVINGS, DON'T NEED TWO. I COOKED 3 AND NO PROBLEM. PUT THREE IN FREEZER AND DID NOT THAW PUT IN THE TOASTER OVEN FOR ABOUT 15 OR 20 MINUTES AND THEY WERE JUST LIKE OUT OF THE PAN. PLEASE DON'T BE AFRAID TO TRY THIS ONE.
Triple Love this Machine!
It does "exactly" what you see on the video! I have made little cherry pies, cornbread, quiche and fritatas, mini grilled rubens and that was the first week! I had company over and they were amazed at how fun and easy it was to use. Takes up hardly any space in my cabinet as it sits upright...Love this machine!
Not all it's shown on TV
Very cute item but practical it's not. Most things you make in it are itty bitty and you would need two or three of them to eat a full portion. One tablespoon of filling is about it. Fillings seep out when cooking making a mess, hard to clean as inserts are not removeable and most crusts stick so the result is messy no matter what. Non stick spray didn't help much either.
PERFECT FOR TWO OF US
This was delivered while we were eating dinner. So when we finished I decided to make dessert. And just that simple, within 25 minutes, and then cool down time, we had dessert. Just like out of the oven. Pies were a perfect golden brown, just like miniature pies or pie for one. I am anxious to try chicken pot pies. Think this will get a lot of use since there are just the two of us. Glad I bought it.
Great for two.
I use this for breakfast, lunch an dinner. This machine makes muffins, quiches, pot pies, fruit pies, brownies, and what ever your creativity can come up with. Love it! I know it is non stick but I have found a spritz of olive oil helps release the product.
My new little appliance...
With 2 friends daughters, their almost 8 yrs old, helping me we made 5 apple pies yesterday. I used ready made refrigerated pie dough & canned applie pie filling. We cut the crusts out using the circle cutters then added in the pie filling; I drained off most of the liquid from the can and sprinkled cinnamon on top of the apples. I pricked the bottom & top crusts with a fork. They cooked perfectly and I used a small knife point to pry them up so I could take them out. Had to wait 1/2 hour for the machine to cool before making the 5 th pie. I know I'll get alot of use out of this.
I live alone and am very disappointed with the
pie maker! I didn't get a recipie book and when I
use it I have a very hard time getting the pies out!
How in the world do you clean it?? I didn't overfill it!!
Amazing little do anything machine!
We love this machine....my kids go nuts for all the snack size foods you can create and with me being a singe mom of 3 kids under age 5 if its not quick nd simple or somthing they like its not worth my time. We have made cupcakes, muffins, corn muffins wth hot dog in the middle, cinnamon rolls, pies, even tostedo bowls for taco nite. The machine is a life saver i can make extra and freeze for a quick snack after school and they love to help come up with new combinations and things to try. They have eaten everything ive made in this wonderful lil machine if thats not proof that it is great i dont know what is! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great for the single/elderly person
What a great little machine! I made 4 individual apple pies and immediatly ate 2! Froze one as a test for future - thawed out /re-heated perfectly in microwave. Your imagination is limitless with this machine. Coconut pie, peach, apple, chocolate, lemon, key lime? My friend bought one because her husband has advanced Altzheimers and it's hard to get him to eat. He loves apple pies and she was spending a lot on individual fruit pies; now she makes them and saves money! The cooked pies freeze nicely wrapped in aluminum and re-heated for 40 seconds in a microwave (without aluminum wrapping!). Going to try using a tortilla wrap instead of pie crust for a thinner crisper crust.
I look forward to making the meat pie recipe as when I come home from work, a quick meal is a meat pie w/gravy and some steamed vegs; all ready in under 10 minutes in the microwave.
Not what I was hoping for
The concept of this small appliance sounded greart. However, I can do the same thing in cupcake tins. Unless you are only cooking for a small family (3-4 people) this appliance would requirement a large time committment to make several pies. The included recipe book has recipes for double or even triple baking batches. That much time makes this a not so good investment. I ordered it during the two day Christmas in July special so I had some time to decide if it would work or not. I thik that this is one of those love it or hate it items. It just doesn't work for me.
We LOVE it!!
I have used this Everyday since it arrived....
I have to admit, it is the Best Kitchen appliance I have purchased!
Bakes a pie in 10 minutes! My kind of Baking!
I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT A LOT!
My husband, son and I have fun making different types of sandwiches or pizza pies. After a long, tiring day at work this is a great product and easily solution to use the pie maker to fix something to eat quickly. And one of these days I plan on making pies with it.
