CooksEssentials Nonstick Pie & Cake Maker with 2 PastryCutters
perfect for mini pot pies
I love to make mini pot pies ahead and freeze them and this is perfect. I also like to make mini fruit pies and freeze them. I love cooks Essentials.
Amazing Little Machine
I am so glad I picked this machine up. I first tried the little cupcakes, great! Then I tried making mini peach pies that I served with vanilla ice cream. Wonderful! But my favorite are mini egg omelette quiches with a pie crust base. Fabulous! The non stick service is just that, non stick. It has not failed me. Highly recommend!
one of my better purchases ever
LOVE LOVE LOVE this machine. We have made so many different things and the come out perfect. Just the two of use, but when the grand daughters come over they love to make the pies.
Wish the non-stick was better
I bought this pie maker for the holidays with the intent of making mini-pies as gifts. The first batch came out beautifully and were easy to remove. The second was iffy. The third batch stuck like a Nightmare. And then clean-up was impossible. I followed all the instructions carefully and used cooking spray etc. But it was a big mess. Too bad 'cos the idea was really cute. Would like to have kept it if the non-stick coating was better.
I love making fritatas in this cake/pie maker. They can be made to order, so it's great for multiple appetites. Vegies cook to al'dente. Haven' tried anything else.
I LOVE IT
Received my Pie & Cake maker several days ago and tried it immediately. Best pies ever. In less than 10 minutes my family can have fresh, hot pies. It has been used every day since. I love experimenting and clean up is a breeze. I'll never make a pie any other way.
I ordered this, then returned it for a replacement, and the replacement was bad, too. Never even plugged either one in. Problem? On the inside, both units had buckled/warped finishes, and someone very obviously really scratched away at the machines, trying to see if the defective paint would come off (so it seemed to me). I received both units damaged and in very unacceptable condition. I ended up spending twice as much on an Emeril pie maker from QVC, which has been great.
I have had this little pie maker for a while now...I use it much more often than I thought I would. You can crisscross two strips of foil in the bottoms of each cup before baking to make removing the baked pies easier; just leave the ends of the strips hanging out on top to use to lift the pies. DH's favorite thing are breakfast quiches.....cooked sausage or bacon or ham, eggbeaters, some veggies and some grated cheese. Close the top and Ina few minutes you have a brown, crispy outside and a fluffy inside.....chicken pot pie is also good....I make a mean cherry pie also according to my son in-law....only wish it had more than one temperature setting as some things require less heat than others if not using a crust...
AFTER READING THE REVIEWS I WAS ON THE FENCE BUT ORDERED ANYWAY. IT IS A WONDERFUL BAKING TOOL FOR ANYONE, SINGLE OR FAMILY. SOMEONE STATED THERE WAS NO RECEIPE BOOK INCLUDED, USE YOUR IMAGINATION. I AM A FAMILY OF ONE. WENT TO KROGER, BAKING SECTION LOOKING FOR THE APPLE PIE IN A CAN. FOUND IT AND ALSO FOUND SEVERAL OTHER MIXES. HOW ABOUT TART CHERRY WITH PEACH PIE FILLING? OR RHUBARB STRAWBERRY PIE FILLING? THERE WERE SEVERAL MORE TO PICK FROM. I USED 2 GENEROUS TABLESPOONS IN EACH CUP, NO PROBLEM. USED THE PILLSBURY PIE CRUST AND EACH LAYER GIVES YOU 3 CUPS TOP AND BOTTOM. THESE CUPS ARE ENOUGH TO SATISFY YOUR CRAVINGS, DON'T NEED TWO. I COOKED 3 AND NO PROBLEM. PUT THREE IN FREEZER AND DID NOT THAW PUT IN THE TOASTER OVEN FOR ABOUT 15 OR 20 MINUTES AND THEY WERE JUST LIKE OUT OF THE PAN. PLEASE DON'T BE AFRAID TO TRY THIS ONE.
Triple Love this Machine!
It does "exactly" what you see on the video! I have made little cherry pies, cornbread, quiche and fritatas, mini grilled rubens and that was the first week! I had company over and they were amazed at how fun and easy it was to use. Takes up hardly any space in my cabinet as it sits upright...Love this machine!
Not all it's shown on TV
Very cute item but practical it's not. Most things you make in it are itty bitty and you would need two or three of them to eat a full portion. One tablespoon of filling is about it. Fillings seep out when cooking making a mess, hard to clean as inserts are not removeable and most crusts stick so the result is messy no matter what. Non stick spray didn't help much either.
PERFECT FOR TWO OF US
This was delivered while we were eating dinner. So when we finished I decided to make dessert. And just that simple, within 25 minutes, and then cool down time, we had dessert. Just like out of the oven. Pies were a perfect golden brown, just like miniature pies or pie for one. I am anxious to try chicken pot pies. Think this will get a lot of use since there are just the two of us. Glad I bought it.
