Pietra Italia Handmade Spaghetti Measure
I love this line - everything is beautiful. I purchased the Sicily pattern. Now, I'm Italian so I don't really need a spaghetti measure, but this looks great hanging next to the stove - it just adds a little something to the decor. The only negative is the box. It comes in just a styrofoam package. I wish it came in a nicely decorated Pietra Italia box so it would be beautiful for gift giving. Please bring more of this line back in - especially in the Sicily. I need to complete my collection!
COMPLEX IN THE VINEYARDS WITH WINE STREET NAMES…
…AND MY KITCHEN DINING ROOM WITH A TASTE OF TUSCANY called for me to choose the ‘Tuscany’ spaghetti measure by Doris Roberts… and that is so 'a propos'! I REMEMBER WHEN SPAGHETTI BOXES HAD CIRCLES provided in print so that I could measure the ‘perfect portion’ of pasta I would cook for ‘spaghetti nights’, when my children were youngsters! And, yes, that is more than a few decades in the past. In reviewing QVC web pages for articles handy for kitchen apparatus, I came across the Pietra Italia Handmade Spaghetti Measure. Voila! There was the perfect item to choose for purchase. It is one of the handiest items, and hangs also as décor on my kitchen wall, next to a round wall clock with wine grapes painted thereon. So, I get double use from Doris’s handy stoneware measure for one to four servings… I usually throw a few more spaghetti stems into the boiling pot of water for good tidings and feasting! :-) What really surprised me is that it is dishwasher/refrig/micro and OVEN SAFE TO 500F! I have picked up four more for gift-giving. Oh! The simple pleasures of life are fun! :-) P.S. But I am puzzled as to why the measure would be used in the micro or standard oven? Am I missing something here?
Love your pieces Doris and can't wait to purchase another. For such quality they should come in their own box, not a shipping box. For gifts or storage this would complete the package. My only reason for the four stars is the packaging.
