KitchenAid 5-Speed Hand Mixer
This is an "Ok" hand mixer
The buttons are awkward, and there's no cord wrap. Looks sloppy just wrapping cord around mixer and no way to secure it from coming unraveled. Doesn't feel like Kitchen Aid quality. I have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer and processor that are both awesome, this, not so much.
I had not bought a new hand mixer in probably 15 years. I absolutely LOVE this mixer! It's so smooth and quiet. I like the variety of speeds. And the fun color choices make it even better - I got the lime green! Highly recommend!!!
Not a good buy
Unfortunately I have to give this item a one star rating. Is it possible to give zero stars? The mixer does not mix well. Slows down considerably when mixing a box cake mix. I have a 42 year old Hamilton Beach hand mixer on it's last leg and it tackles cake mix better than the new Kitchen Aid hand mixer. I do not recommend this product.
Motor Gave Out
I had my hand mixer for a little over a year and only used it 5 or 6 times before the motor quit working. Before that, I didn't really like using it because if you are mixing anything light and fluffy, like flour, it turns on really fast before slowing down to what ever setting you have it set for. I always forgot about that and sent flour or whatever happened to be in the bowl flying all over my kitchen. Any time the consistency of what was being mixed got to be like chocolate chip cookie dough, the mixer could not handle it any more and would almost come to a full stop. The old models had much more power to them and could power through just about anything. I found this mixer to just about be worthless, mixing by hand is much more effective than this particular product.
Waste of Money
Purchased this mixer a while back. It is a very poor design. The beaters are keyed to go into only a specific slot. The hub that is on one beater is difficult to spot. The beaters do not insert easily. It does not mash potatoes very well and splatters them all over the counter. The controls are awkward to use. Very poor ergonomics!!! I've switched back to my decades old Hamilton Beach and find it to be a far superior product.
I've only used this mixer for about 2 years and the beaters broke! I thought KitchenAid was supposed to be good quality??? My cheaper mixer I bought at a discount store lasted for 10 years. Looks like I'm going back to that brand!
horrible..waste of money
I bought this mixer a while back and the beaters broke and kitchen aid sent me a new one and the beaters broke on that one too, the beaters are to weak for heavier batters, they also bend.
not happy with this one , I ended up buying cook essentials, much heavier beater.
I have this mixer and have never had a problem with it. I'm surprised with some of the other reviews.
I bought this mixer because KitchenAid has such a good reputation for quality products but after using just a few times it suddenly stopped working. There is only a one year warranty on it so I am out of luck because it was purchased over a year ago.
ONE OFTHE BEATERS BROKE AFTER HAD HAD A YEAR. NOW HAVE TO BUY WHOLE NEW MIXER.
no power, awkward buttons
Got this when I don't want to get out my Kitchen aid stand mixer...but had problems ffrom the start. The beaters are difficult to insert, one keeps popping out and the on-off speed buttons is awkward to turn on. Unfortunally had to send back. I just have to use my stand mixer for even little things.
