Water Temp too low
I received this item yesterday with great anticipation, only to be disappointed. In all fairness, there may have been something wrong with this unit and a previous customer returned it and it was shipped out again. It arrived with the Bodum box open and parts loose in the shipping box. The plastic bags that cover the items where waded up in the box. The first thing I did was set it up to run just water through to clean it. The carafe was very difficult to place on the hot plate. There is a vent at the top of the unit. As the hot water dispensed into the carafe, steam vented all over my upper cabinets. So much, that it condensed and dripped back all over the counter. I would not deal with that on a daily basis! I measure the water temp, it barely reached 160 degrees F. French pressed coffee requires 195-200 degrees F. Packed it up and returned it.
