CooksEssentials 5qt Oval Stainless Steel Digital Pressure Cooker
Great...but doesn't last.
I'm on my second pressure cooker and am now replacing another part and possibly the entire lid. First cooker just stopped working after a few months. Like many other reviewers have said. QVC sent a return form and then a replacement. Then a few months later the pressure control valve plastic broke. Out of warranty I was able to order a new valve but it costs around $15 total to get the new part shipped. Today I turned the lid over to rinse it off and entire pressure control valve fell off. I think this will require a complete new lid. I can only imagine what that will cost. The company was responsive the first time but you have to leave a message and wait for a call. So I'm waiting. But given all the similar reviews its surely a defective model.
save your money
This cooker lasted 13 months! Just looked up the warranty it is only for a year. After reading the other reviews it seems this pressure cooker only lasts for a year and that's it. The pin came out and the lid wont lock. Waste of money! Im pretty disappointed. I love to pressure cook. I went back to my old one I use on the stove, had that one for years!
Use the warranty with your products
The cooker is great, with one minor exception. the heating element just went out. I called the manufacture, and they are sending a replacement, once they receive the proof of purchase, and part of the product back. Can't wait for the replacement and yes, I will purchase again. For those who did have similar trouble, they will honor their warranty for up to 15 months, even though the paper work shows 1 year. They like QVC want you to be happy with your purchase.
Best Purchase Ever!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a cook's essential electric pressure cooker that I bought from QVC twelve years ago.. It still works the same as when I bought it, except the interior is looking rough because of the utensils used, but other than that it is the best thing I have bought from QVC. I have bought my son and his family one and they love it. I am buying one for a wedding gift for a family member. I hope they enjoy theirs as much as we do ours!!!!!!!
Use mine ...for the Wine Room...
Between the awesome cookbooks from QVC... I never have had a bad meal in this... my clients LOVE my cooking...QVC needs to offer parts or.... a discounted new pressure cooker when parts wear out....or make a better mouse trap.... PLEASE... love this cooking vessel....I have probably sold at least 10 of these because I love it...
Completely broke 1 yr later
I have to say I loved this thing! I used it a couple of times a week. Then the weekend of my sons 16th birthday with 60 people coming over to celebrate it breaks. It won't power on at all. It lasted 14 months. That's a crazy price for only 14 months of use.
No problems, Love it!
I have had none of the problems listed below. I have owned this maybe a year.
Everytime I use it Im amazed! Just made the Chicken Osso Buco and the Risotto....perfect every time.
I used my pressure cooker at least twice a week. loved it so much...then it completely died on me. and the manufacturer didn't honor the warranty - even though it was still under one year, sent me back to QVC for a credit. total disappointment.
Piece of Junk
I am on # 3 on the Pressure Cooker first Time after 10 Month it just stopped got replacement ,The 2 one work t for about 5 month them it stopped working the diganal wont work no more so i got a other replacement don't know how long this one is working have no warranty anymore on it i guess if this one stops working they will not give a other replacement for that much money it should work longer than only a few month.
I have bought a pressure cooker before it lasted a very long time but this isn't even a year. Old. The pin popped out the lid doesn't even stay down when its locked. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Now I have to see if I can buy another one . This isn't worth the money
I used it about 12 times and then the steam pressure pin just popped out when it came to pressure. Then it did the same thing again the next two times. It sits on a shelf, but it has turned me on to pressure cooking, so I invested in a stove top unit. Not that hard to learn to use.
it's junk for the price
I bought this as the TSV in Sept. 2010, it worked great for a Year. Last Year i had to use a Knife or Spoon to pry it open even after it was unlocked. Then the Pressure Valve start acting up just to be broken off 3 weeks ago :(
I guess for a $100.00 the Quality could have been better, will I buy another Item from Cooks Essentials ? heck no. it's not like a paid $40.oo for it
