As is might even be a different color
Have been looking for this wine opener for a long time. Just found some offered as is and the only color was champagne. Gee I just received it in black which is black rubber. I guess it doesn't matter. Kind of liked the champagne. It was packaged well. Had one and gave it away. I'm not a wine drinker, don't really like it, but sometimes you need wine to cook with. Decided to purchase another one. Using an aerator does enhance the flavor of wine. Great item!

just received the houdini wine opener today, arrived in great condition, have yet to use it, sure it will be great. my first time ordering "as is" will not be the last

Great Set, Great Price
I've purchased a couple of "AS IS" items already and sometimes it can be packaged sloppy (expected) but with this purchase it was in new condition. I was so pleased because I planned on giving it as a gift but if it wasn"t I would've kept it for myself. The couple loved it and it worked beautifully. So pleased it really made a hit and I will get order more as gifts to keep on hand.

Will be a gift for a wine lover
This set, sold "As Is" came in perfect condition and intact. This will be a Christmas gift for one of my brother-in-laws, who is a wine lover; his wife is also. I bought it in red, and would buy again.
I have never had a problem with buying anything "As Is." For those of you, who receive your purchase banged up or box beaten up: do not blame QVC. Blame the UPS or mail person; just watch the videos that are out, show how horribly rough UPS, FedEx, and Postal people are with packages.

No Instructions / Poorly Repackaged
Ummmm... I get that I bought "AS IS", but shouldn't there be some directions in the box? Plus the pieces were all loose in the box. Come on, QVC - you can do better than that.

so far so good
I bought 2 of these- one for me, one for a gift. I've used everything in both sets just to ensure they worked properly. The opener does take some strength to get the cork out, but still easier than a standard opener. I was a bartender for years, and it would have been handy. The opener is especially good at keeping corks "nice" if you reuse your wine corks for DIY decor and crafts...no cracks, breaks, etc in the cork.

Good but
The wine accessories package is attractive and a nice gift. The opener is especially valuable if you have trouble with traditional corkscrew devices, and the aerator is a great conversation piece, though drippy in transferring between guests' glasses. Main drawback is the sealer, which worked well for couple months and then failed, with no clue as to how to repair or fix, which raises question of the set's durability. Can't find it sold separately either.

Best Purchase Ever
I have been watching these and checking prices locally for a while. I could not believe this price and jumped on the chance to order the "as is" kit. The kit arrived in excellent condition and it worked perfectly. I can not recommend the Houdini Product line enough!
