Judith Ripka Sterling Braided Double Row Bracelet
Wanted To Love
Sadly I returned both the black and tan bracelets. I was very excited about receiving them, but that clasp was a real problem for me. Also, the bracelet kept sliding around so the closure was never visible - it would go to the under-side of my wrist and sit there. I could not have gone down a size.
It's a pretty bracelet, just not for me.
Awful Clasp / Beautiful Bracelet
Ordered this in the Black size Large. First I couldn't even get the bracelet open. When I finally did, the bar bent at about a 90 degree angle. I worked with it and worked with it and finally got it to where it would clasp, but then the little safety clasp was so loose, it wouldn't snap shut. Too many problems and I sent it right back. Wish they would go back to the drawing board and fix these problems as I would love to own it.
I LOVE this bracelet! I wear it very often because it is appropriate for just about any situation. Fabulous for the office with a suit, perfect with casual jeans, and an edgy accessory for dinner\movie with hubby. I pair it with Judith's black eternity stack ring set or the double estate stack ring set (see referenced items below). I constantly get compliments and I have no frustrations with the clasp. I could not be happier with the purchase.
IT'S A GOLDI-LOCKS MOMENT FOR ME!
FINALLY! I've been on waitlist for this bracelet for almost 2 months & was getting seriously worried it wasn't gonna make it due to all the bad reviews. I've been buying QVC jewelry for at least 25 yrs. - There isn't a darn thing wrong with this style bracelet or clasp. You have to "PUSH" the little plunger down & pull ever so slightly at the same time & it wks. The little bar that goes under is a safety catch, it's supposed t/b stiff & will loosen in time. The style is wonderful & I'm wearing with the similar style necklace. I find the material very comfortable. I wouldn't want "real" leather. Leather cracks, fades & wears out.... this piece should hold it's color for years. Thank you Judith, I for one LOVE this piece.
haven't taken it off!
I bought this in the tan and gold almost two months ago-- I was looking for an everyday bracelet and because it is not made of real leather I can shower in it!! It's held up so well and I don't plan on taking it off because it goes with everything :) I adore this bracelet. I do agree, however, that the clasps are difficult. If you want to take this on and off all the time, do not get this bracelet....thus, the 4 stars!
Needs Another Clasp
I had to send this back. I was having a really hard time getting the clasp fastened and unfastened. I like the bracelet just not that darn clasp. :(
I LOVE IT!!!!
It is such a beautiful piece! I could not be happier with it. The clasp is different but I have no problems at all.
The size and weight are perfect.
Love mine...so far!
I ordered the rose/brown combo in the small size for my 6" wrist, and have completely enjoyed wearing it (although I did think it was on the expensive side). I've stacked it with a rose gold bangle and even the Honora macrame piece, and really enjoyed the casual elegance. Have no problem with the clasp, either taking it on or off, and it does fit close to my wrist (which is how I like it). Reading all these reviews, however, will influence me to be careful in the future but I honestly don't expect any problems. If it did break, my sense would be that QVC will stand behind a Ripka piece beyond the 30 days if necessary.
Pretty but Difficult Clasp
It was love at first sight for this bracelet and I had to have it. It has all the beauty, uniqueness, class and style of all JR jewelry; however, the clasp was a problem for me from day 1. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how it connects but the angle makes it difficult to insert the clasp and the safety catch on the bottom that has to be snapped in place is awkward. It is really not all that secure. On second wearing I looked down and saw the bracelet was hanging from my wrist. The clasp had completely broken off. I really love this bracelet, and am so sad that it broke, but for the price it certainly should have lasted longer than two wearings, and it did not go through any rough or unusual treatment. I haven't decided if I will request a replacement. Though I really, really love the style and the look, I feel the quality of the clasp is not substantial enough to hold up. So Sad! I gave it 3 stars for the beauty and style. Would have given it 5 had the clasp held up.
I read a lot of the reviews and I don't get what is so difficult about the clasp on this bracelet. It isn't rocket science for crying out loud! I really like my bracelet. I gave it 4 stars beings it was a bit pricey, but I kept it anyway. If you are affraid to buy this bracelet because of all of the negative comments made about the clasp don't. It is simple to open and close.
I always wear average in bracelets. I think I could have worn a small in this one. It turned on my wrist which would have been annoying to constantly turn it back. If you are in between sizes I would size down. The faux leather is nice and although it seemed well made I thought the clasp part of the bracelet looked cheap. Just not my style.
Issue with clasp
As a Judith Ripka collector I must say I was disappointed in the quality of the clasp. It is impossible to open the clasp as the mechanism is so stiff. Once the bracelet is on, I was unable to take it off myself. Unfortunatley, it has been sent back for return. Please work on quality issues.
