More Beautiful Than You Can Imagine
I ordered this thinking if I did not like the "fire" I would send it back, well its not going back. It is to beautiful for words.
The colors just shoot off of it without sunlight, in sunlight it just gorgeous. I ordered it in a smaller size ( all that was available), but the band is so substantial, I will have no problem getting it sized.

Perfect
This ring is beautiful. The stone is amazing and the gold clad looks like every. other gold ring I have. I have had several Ethiopian opals and had to send back as they were cloudy. This one is awesome.

Just Gorgeous
My ring has the most beautiful opal I've ever seen. The colors just flash and shine and reminds me of a kaleidoscope. The fit is perfect and the ring is very comfortable---just get it!!

Beautiful Ring
Love the design of this ring. The opal is of high quality, and the green diopside stones are perfect for enhancing both the stone and leaf design. Looks beautiful on the hand.

Beautiful Ring !
I ordered this ring not really having any expectations other than I thought it looked very pretty in the on-air presention, but you never know what will actually arrive at your door. It is a lovely ring, with a beautiful luminescent opal with lots of green undertones which are complimented very nicely by the small chrome diopsides on each side near the band of the ring. The design around the opal gives interesting texture and detail. The ring is very comfortable on the hand and I believe I will enjoy wearing this ring for many years. Thank you QVC and the Smithsonian Institution for bringing this jewelry to us. I'm very happy with this purchase. The only thing that might make it better was if it was solid 14K gold, but at today's prices I realize that's out of the question!

Disappointed
I must admit that this is a pretty ring; however, it was much smaller in person than indicated on T.V. When it arrived, I was disappointed that the mounting was small and not what I imagined for the price. The center stone is a nice, firery opal; however, I think it would have been better served in another larger setting. It just didn't seem as balanced overall as I would have preferred. Sorry that I had to send this one back.

pleasantly surprised
I have bought and returned several Ethiopian opal items due to lack of stone color or quality of design. This Smithsonian Ethiopian Opal ring surprised me because of my earlier, repeated disappointments. I kept trying because I love good quality opals This ring, which holds an opal with color (finally) is a pretty and feminine design. I prefer more blue and pink in the stone, but this ring did look like what was represented on the video. I will wear it daily, within reason, taking it off when doing housework.. I had hesitated to purchase this particular ring, because there were no other reviews for it, which is why I wrote one. Yes I would have spent the money for solid gold, but glad to receive affordable opal jewelry with ample color and glow. Deb from Tx
