The most significant source of ametrine is from the Anahi mine in Southeastern Bolivia. Bolivian legend is that ametrine first became popular in the 17th century when a Spanish conquistador received it as a dowry when marrying an Ayoreo Indian princess named Anahi. The Anahi mine, named after the princess, is the only mine known where ametrine is naturally occurring.

breathtaking Ametrine is one of my favorite stones, and this ring doesn't disappoint. The quality is all there, and I am very pleased to add this to my collection. The line between the citrine and amethyst is very defined and the colors are good. They are in the midrange of medium, and nicely saturated. The side stones of both amethyst and citrine complement and enhance the ametrine. I realize this a a pricey piece, but worth it if you like this stone. This is one ring I'm definitely keeping. 05-21-12
